Believe in America

Granted, I have no idea how UK politics works, so I'm going with the "perfect storm" theory. In the three years, from 2012-2015, significant events transpired which led up to this. I have no idea what those events were, but this is what they led to.

Though I will say that the Lib Dems have barely enough members to become the opposition. It's only about a 4-5 MP difference between them and the Tories.

And the government survived to 2015?

You're asking for a large leap in terms of suspension of disbelief. It would be like if in my TL I had Ralph Nader winning the entire South and MidWest while gaining super-majorities in both houses.

If you want my advice, go with ...

LABOUR GAINS 60 SEATS IN FIRST ELECTION WITH BOUNDARY CHANGES, MAJORITY OF 18.

TORIES LOSE 50 SEATS

LIBDEMS LOSE 35 SEATS

GREENS AND UKIP SURGE AHEAD WITH TOTAL OF 25 SEATS

I changed it. Labour is still in power, but the Tories are in the opposition.

RICHARD TISEI ELECTED GOVERNOR OF MASSACHUSETTS
November 4th, 2014

attachment.php

In a surprisingly close election, Republican State Senator Richard Tisei has defeated his Democratic challenger, Lieutenant Governor Tim Murray, in the race to succeed Deval Patrick as Governor of Massachusetts. Tisei ran on a platform of fiscal discipline through cuts to wasteful spending, and a promise to bring jobs into the state by making it easier for small businesses to grow. Tisei had also expressed support for abortion under certain conditions; a position considered controversial in the Republican Party, which is mostly pro-life. Tisei had previously faced off against Murray in the 2010 election for Lieutenant Governor, where he lost to Murray, who was running along with Governor Patrick (who is mounting a separate bid for the Democratic Presidential nomination this year). Tisei had also mounted a bid for the US Congress in 2012, where he lost to the Democratic incumbent, John Tierney. The gubernatorial election was close, with Tisei winning by only 8,745 votes. Some in the state claimed voter fraud, along with merciless attack ads against Murray by various SuperPACs, were responsible for Tisei’s victory. It is interesting to note that Tisei is the first openly gay man to be elected Governor of Massachusetts, and the first Republican Governor of the state since Mitt Romney, who went on to be elected President of the United States.

The popular animated series, King of the Hill, is about to make a return to television. Co-creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels made the announcement on Facebook, and they are currently planning a new season for the show, which will air on Fox as part of its Animation Domination lineup alongside The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, and The Cleveland Show. News of the Emmy Award-winning series’ renewal comes after the cancellation of another animated series called Bob’s Burgers, which first aired in 2011 and had its series finale in March. King of the Hill tells the story of a man named Hank Hill, a propane salesman living in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas who takes great pride in selling “propane, and propane accessories”, and his life in Arlen. News of the series’ revival was met with an overwhelmingly positive reception, and has been polled as the most anticipated animated series of 2015. However, Fox has told viewers that they may have to wait until as late as 2017 to see any new episodes.

Former Senator Rick Santorum is travelling with his family to Iowa, where he has stated that he is going to “make a very important announcement”. Just what Santorum’s announcement is has yet to be seen, but it will be very closely watched when he makes it tomorrow.
