What if Belgium are partiparted after the Talleyrand plan

What would the consequences be?

If we look at coalmining we can see that the Dutch get access to the coal in Belgian Limburg, while the Prussian get access to the coal in Liege, while France get access to the coal in westen Wallonia.

But what would the results be of, we have a more industrialised Netherlands, a Prussia in fully control over Luxembourg (and a significant French minority), and a bigger France. Would we see Antwerp reunify with Netherlands, would Germany/Prussia annex the French gain later?

I dont see any consequenses. With the extra resources it would be better for netherlands prussia and france. Plus no belgium means no belgium gongo thus no atrocities. Plus no belgium sepratist problams for the belguims of today. And those reasources would make everyone happy.

I also think the extra coal will help netherlands alot but i dont know how much of an effect the extra coal with have on bigger nations such as prussia an france. But i dont think the coal in belguim would be enough of a confidance boost gained bu extra reasources to cause a signifigantly large war.

I also think reunification with antwerp and netherlands is inevitable because hey have alot in common and its in the best intrests of netherlands to do so. Its a small country some territorial gain with culturaly similer people wouldnt hurt but would help alot.

As for prussia annexing french gains well prussia was an agressive nation so it is quite possible could they achive it or if they did could they maintain it. But the exact opposite may happen aswell like you said luxomberg has a signifigant french minority so it could give the french a legitimate excuse to go for it.

All in all what is certain in my opinion would be a stronger richer netherlands. And i dont think thats realy bad thing to happen.

Though i could be completly wrong as well because im not a pro on this regions details.

The thing I dislike about that plan is that the place where I was born is now suddenly Prussian, That is why I prefer the talleyrand wellington partician (Dutch Flanders and French Wallonia/Brussels)*. The things that bother me about this plan is that the Netherlands have to give up a couple of territories that have been Dutch for centuries, like parts of Limburg and Zeelandish Flanders. Also giving Prussia, who is basicly a neutral coutry seems just weird.

* Interestingly the first hit I got when googling Talleyrand Wellington was a threat I started about this subject.

That was the geopolitical secret protocol: Talleyard(the Napoleonic Bismarck or Bismarck was the Victorian Talleyard) know than the British whan to have a protectorate to reduce the threat of the Channel port and in the way.. Weak their old Nemesis of the Dutchmen.

And Giving Territory to Prussia was the way to sell the plan. giving part of the dispute territory(Belgium) to a third party will make than the Frenchmen doesn't was a total annexation but some more to keep the Balance of Power(the scecne of the pre 1848 era) with giving Prussia.. the Buffer of france in the east some territory.

Again this plan can have some interesting effect when germany unify(and more think but again the butterflies will be radical)
