Because of a pair socks?

What if Calvin Coolidge Junior wore socks with his Tennis shoes on June 30th 1924 and did not get a blister. What would his father's presidency been like if he lived? Would it be the same or different. How would this change the 1928 election or the 1932 election?

I don't think he would have run in 1928 (he had heart problems). It's still possible though. If Cal ran in 1928 then he would have run. Had he served for a third term, the government's expansion under Hoover probably would not have happened. Not sure about Smoot-Hawley.

It might--might--result in an amendment being passed limiting the presidency to two terms, after Coolidge gets blamed for the Depression. But I could be wrong.
