Of course, it does mean the core of the band were born between 1970 - 73.
So what about OTL's Beatles then? You can't just take four people from OTL and have them be born 30 years later--for one thing, it means they can't have the same parents, so they won't even be biologically identical to their OTL selves, never mind psychologically. John, Paul, George and Ringo were the persons they were because they were born at a certain time and a certain place, and grew up exposed to certain influences. What makes you think that just because you have four guys named like the Beatles, they'll even meet each other, or be into music at all? For all you know this 1970-born John Lennon became an investment banker.

It's likely they'd have dropped Epstein anyway, or just kept him on as a uniter of sorts. The band was already moving in a direction he was militantly against come Sgt. Pepper's (which he thought was marketing suicide). However, if nothing else, he was the force that kept the band together, which was the problem that lead to the eventual breakup.

..........
Now that's just antisemitic.

Sorry!

I just didn't like the idea anymore and it needed a few butterflies, space bats and a big spoonful of WTF...

Essentially it was about The Beatles if they had been around as a young, up and coming band in the early 90's, with their influences skewed more towards progressive rock and bands like The Beach Boys, Pink Floyd and Kraftwerk.

They do not become the myth and legend they seemingly are now, but they're regarded as a fine little singles band with plenty of vision and pretty confident album sales.

Oh, and no Ringo...

When I saw the title of this thread, I figured it meant John Lennon is not killed; the Beatles re-unite some time before 1990, and we discuss what their new music might sound like. There's nothing ASB about that.

Oh sod that, we all know how that turns out!

Lennon and McCartney have teenage tantrums in their 40's and make George Harrison look even more like the quiet, sensible former Beatle.
