Bayezid II and Granada

Could he have invaded the Iberian peninsula, in order to aid Granada or even to expand his empire? Or is this logistically impossibe or too dificult, due to the distance involved?

Logistically doomed if ever done, unless a previous POD giver the Ottomans naval dominance and at least a decent foothold in North Africa. I hardly see Bayazid as that sort of idiot who does such a thing.

Turkey's way too far and not enough of a naval power. If Granada's getting aid, it's coming from the same place that saved (and took over) al-Andalus twice before: Morocco. Which, however, was not doing too well in the late 15th century, unable to defend its own coast from Portugal.

The key to saving Granada isn't in Turkey. You need a powerful Moroccan state.
