Battles of Khalkhin Gol: alternate history!

Read the link attached to my original post- or any other book on the battle.
Notice how its called " Zhukov's offensive" " Zhukovs plan." Shtern was the general commander of the area but Zhukov was the commander of the army that faced the Japanese. Also its worth noting that that all the other commanders referred to Zhukov for orders and that Zhukov didn't take orders from Shtern, only directly from the Kremlin. Make no mistake- Zhukov was in charge.

As a general rule of thumb, it's best not to cite wikipedia, anyone could have written it.

Incorrect. The Soviets were able to cycle in some 600-700 thousand men into Siberia while still transferring armies to Moscow and organizing a substantial strategic reserve. Said 600-700 thousand men would be more than adequate to stall and then crush any Japanese attack.

That may be true but i'm basing this on the assumption that the Nazis still inflict devastating defeats on the soviets and advance on Moscow. In this case, there will be few troops available. Stalin and the records are clear- the successful defence of Moscow was down to Siberian reinforcments. and if there's a war on in Siberia or Manchuria? they will not be able to be redeployed.

Actually... It was the troops from Central Asia. Far East front remained intact for the duration of war. Truth is they couldn't advance very far if at all, as their logistics assets were stripped, but they could defend against anything Japanese could hope to throw at them, with or without victory in China.
