Batman: Knightfall in two movies

Like many people I am disappointed in Dark Knight Rises turned out. I'll try to keep the feel of the Christopher Nolan movies.

First off all of the people Harvey Dent killed and Harvey Dent himself are blamed on the Joker. (It is his fault anyway.)

It has been 8 years since the Joker caused all the deaths. Bruce Wayne is still Batman and patrols the city less often. Organize crime has been destroyed. I introduce a young cop named Jean Paul Valley.

As Batman patrols the city he finds a vigilante in a modified chainmail armor. Being Batman he fights him, but decides to train him. Jean Pual Valley is the son of a history professor obsessed with medieval history and the Order of St. Duman. Eventually Batman starts to feel confident about the training after a few months.

Bane arrives in the city. His origin is basically the same, but now with the absence of any organize crime he decides hi cartel can take over. He sets his sight on defeating Batman first. Batman hears of it and asks some prisoners who Bane is. Maroni (Eric Robert's character) fills him in.

Bane organizes the breakout from Balckgate prison. Batman shows up. Instead of the monthlong comic idea of Batman chasing down individual criminals he gets into a fight with about 15 men who are armed with baseball bats, lead pipes, knives and a couple with guns. Injured Batman returns to his mansion where he meets and fights Bane. Bane breaks his back.

Bruce Wayne is forced to leave Gotham to recover. Meanwhile jean paul valley is forced to go to more extreme methods and develop his Batarmor to fight Bane.

Bruce Wayne is relaxing in Paris because he's heard that crime is down in the city. Alfred walks up and tells him that after Bane was beaten and put in Balckgate prison the new Batman is now killing criminals.

End of movie one.

Part two:

Bruce Wayne tracks down the league of Shadows to their new base and their new leader Talia. She agrees to help train. The League has taken a different approach with Talia in charge. The League assassinates people to put the right people in positions of power and keep them there.

After months of training and healing Bruce Wayne returns to Gotham city. He quickly fights Azreal before chasing down to the Batcave where they fight for a final time. Bruce Wayne wins and Jean Paul Valley is save from his insanity.

I have some ideas to make the second movie bigger. But let me know what you think of this idea so far.

How does his back get healed? The way it was done in the comics is ridiculous:a woman, who happens to be a love interest for Bruce Wayne, show up having healing powers then heals Bruce but loses her memory and powers in the process. That would be laughed at in the cinema.

It would be better if Batman had to use the Lazarus Pit to heal his back.

Why are people disappointed in the how 'Rise' turned out?

I thought it was really good.

So what issues do you have with it?

The Dark Knight Rises was a good movie, but it didn't seem Batman enough to me or my friend. As for Batman's back being healed. The League of Shadows won't have lazarus pits, but will have some techinques not recognized by modern science.

My friend thought that Dwayne Johson, the peoples champion, could play Bane. We would need someone physically imposing.

This brings up two imporatant questions about the Dark Knight Rises. One was brought in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2tE-BCwZtw. How does Alfred know all about Bane. And how can they know his fighting style from one single fight?

I Alfred just chased up on sources regarding Bane, he's been rogue for a while and has been hired by people like the corporate guy so there probably is a paper/people trail with him about. The government seemed to have an idea of who Bane was as well. As for the fight, both Alfred and Batman have seen their fair share of fights so them picking up on stuff seems fine.

As for the Knightfall idea, I think the studios would have wanted the movies to end in time for a gap between them and the Justice League movies. Added to that is Nolan's own vision of them, you'll have to change that in a way to get round to adapting the entire Knightfall saga.

I thought Bane was a tad off and that Talia was more evil than she should have been, but that's an opinion from a passing fan. Nolan did a terrific job with the film(s), and after a performance like the Ledger's Joker, Nolan had a high mark to pass. Given all of the options and potential characters I think he did a wonderful job.

I might have liked something where the Penguin shows up with Bane to hold the city for ransom with Talia and the LoS teaming up with Batman to defeat the pair, but then there are a myriad of plots possible for the series. Maybe even have De Vito reprise his role with a few inside jokes about "you look familiar" from Bane and Gordon.
