Autumn 1940-- Several high-ranking German officials prepare a statement on the dangers of war with Russia. Hitler ignores and confides to Hermann Goering that: "Everyone on all sides was...raising economic misgivings against a...war with Russia. From now onwards he wasn't going to listen to...that talk and he was going to stop up his ears in order to get his peace of mind". (The above is direct from Goering)
5 Dec., 1940-- The plans for Operation Barbarossa are drawn up. The invasion is scheduled for May 1941. Hitler signs off on all orders.
Mar. 1941-- Hermann Goering perpares a "Green Folder" outlining the Soviet economic disposal after the (succesful) invasion. It includes reccomendations theat the entire population of the USSR be starved to death.
Early summer 1941-- Alfred Rosenberg plans the division of the USSR into districts: Ostland, Ukraine, Kaukasus, Moskau, and Turkestan.

Early June 1941-- Wilhelm Ritter von Leeb, a cautious man, manages to convince Hitler that warm clothing and cold-weather gear are needed.
