Balkanization of Russia post-USSR [including ethnic russian zones]

okay, I heard recently that regions of southern Russia around the Don and Kuban regions, despite decossackization due to the USSR still have a strongly cossack identity, are more "socially conservative" etc etc. There was also a historical precedent of 'Cossackia', or people believing there should be an autonomous cossack state or something similar to that - to the point that the US legislation of 'captive nations' included the premise of Cossackia being a captive nation of the USSR. How would you see this autonommous cossack state form in southern Russia, and what would happen with conflicts with the caucauses tribes and nations around there? Also where else would you see separatism from ethnic russian regions?

With Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, the Baltic Republics and independent entities popping into existence throughout the Caucasus, isn't that what we got historically? Or is it a DBWI?

I see no basis for the formation of a Cossack state without a POD before the USSR itself. Don Oblast is too russified, and Stavropol and Krasnodar are too diverse with minorities pretty dedicated to remaining within the federation. A Pomor autonomy is likelier, but even that would remain within the federation.

I mean the Russian Federation's Russian regions breaking up based off regionalism or culture (like the Cossack state I mention)
