Baldwin IV has a child

Sigh, one last little Crusader WI, simple, Baldwin IV has a child.

I did study on Leprosy in Science months back, but it never had any information on Reproduction on Lepers.

Also, could it been possible to delay his disease?

I Hate These Minimalist Posts.
Have no Idea who you are talking about, and You don't give enuff Info to know if Looking up the Wiki is worth the aggravation.

A Quick Browse seem to indicate that the Leprosy interferes with Puberty, and that the Doctors of the time did not expect Baldwin to be able to produce Heirs.

Even if He did by some chance have a Child, I doubt if it could Survive the Politicing of the Era.

As for the latter part of the OP, presumably Baldwin CAUGHT leprosy from somewhere so I guess he could have avoided it...

Baldwin IV

It depends on how long Baldwin IV lives..If he still dies relatively young, you still have the factional disputes during the reign of this child, assuming it's a boy. Baldwin IV having a healthy male heir may mean that Princess Sybilla never marries Guy of Lusignan or William of Montferrat. Both she and her sister Isabella become less important now. I suspect that Raymond of Tripoli will still be the regent for the son of Baldwin IV.

If Baldwin IV despite his leprosy has a male offspring things can be slightly more complicated... If we assume that he has a child in his 20s (difficult since by that age he was already blind and unable to walk but miracles do happen...) and he dies by this disease as per OTL in 1185 aged 24 then the Kingdom is stuck with a 4-5 yo King while the Nobles struggle for the regency Salahdin would have torn them apart in a few days... Sibylla could have married someone from the local nobility in order to push her son's claim (Ibelin maybe?)... Also lets not forget that Raymond III of Tripoli had royal blood through Hodierna... So if mayhem occurs and Salahdin prepeares for war he could make his move to seize the throne (maybe as a Regent but he would have total power over the infant King...)

Or in a worse scenario Salahdin could leave the nobles kill each other in a civil war and then walk in and claim the remnants of the Kingdom...
