Stalingrad West!
Badass Clark! : A BW/Red Sequel
Prologue
Nebraska, December 2014
Douglas Harper needed a vacation, it was one of the few times he could sympathise with his students. People would forever criticise teachers about the large amount of holidays they got but if they knew what it was like to try and make 25 teenagers understand history for 40 hours a week, they would realise that teachers were really the most under appreciated individuals in society.
He had managed to come to something of a cease fire with his usually rowdy class leading the Christmas vacation, in exchange for relative calm he'd given them a straight forward assignment for the end of term. A 600 word essay with the title "Why ... should be the new face on Mount Rushmore" inspired by the White houses declaration that they may put new faces on Mount Rushmore at some point in the near future.
It had worked quite well, they got an easy wind down to their Christmas break and in exchange he got an easy time over the vacation. Most of the essays were pretty good albeit bland, most of his students blogged and many had become decent writers. One did catch his eye however, mainly out of it's oddness. The class had generally been pacifist, especially after covering the Holocaust. Now someone wanted to put a military commander on Mount Rushmore? Still, at least this would prove more interesting than the last few.
And thus Douglas Harper began to read "Why Mark Clark should be the New Face on Mount Rushmore."

The Contraband Arrives
Allied HQ, December 1944
Mark Clark was at home in this new battlefield. Were in Italy he had been constrained by those British snobs, now he finally had full control of his men. Italy was just a mere sideshow, this was the real battle field, not that anywhere had it easy after Stalin had sold the allies down the river. Here however, there were rumours that the Germans were massing hundreds of thousands of men for a winter counter-offensive, like the ones the Russians had pulled on them. Ike had failed to gain the decisive victory needed on the Western Front, and now the Germans looked stronger than ever. There was no need to fear now however, he was the right man to show that jumped up Prussian that you don't mess with America.
Next to a detailed map of the front line was a picture of Von Manstein. Clark smiled as he threw a dart at the leader of Germany. His aim had never been great but the force that he threw the dart with was impressive, smashing the window next to Mansteins picture. Almost immediately, one of the pigeons from outside his office flew in. Panicking, Clark tried to shoo it away with one of his maps, only leading to the the thing tearing it apart. As the Avian demon proceeded through his office, relieving itself on his front line map and spilling his coffee all over his desk. Enraged, Clark grabbed his pistol, firing a barrage of shots against the flying rodent.
In self defence the Pigeon threw itself at Clark, knocking him over as well as a paraffin lamp. Flames spewed out all over the floor, their burning only drowned out by the savage battle going on.
Moments later, aides rushed to find Clark. There had been a "development" at the front. As the neared his office the realised to their horror that the building had burned down. Standing in the rubble was a bloodied and blackened Clark, in his right hand he brandished the corpse of a recently deceased Flying rodent.
Looking Half maddened he shouted on the aides to report.
With horrified expressions on their faces, they began.
"Uhh General, we have a situation on our hands"
The Pigeon had been conquered, now came the Falcon...
