Not sure whether the combined company should largely go with mainly Ford, Chrysler or even GM (akin to
Bitter Cars) engines since it is no good for a low-volume company to be totally reliant on one company for engines and other components, let alone whether it should make use of the services of Tom Tjaarda (via Ghia), Pietro Frua or Carrozzeria Fissore, etc.
Also worth noting the Monteverdi Sahara / Safari would potentially have other engine options available compared to OTL.
Would be interesting seeing De Tomaso reenter Formula 1 via the Monteverdi-Onyx F1 team in 1990.
There is also the other potential models such as:
De Tomaso 1600 Spider - Might have worked if styling was less like the upcoming Fiat X1/9

Monteverdi 2000 GTi - Was conceived as a more accessible Monteverdi powered by a 130 hp 2-litre BMW M10 engine.

Monteverdi Macho 2.8 Turbo - Shown as a 5-door hatchback or 2/3-door(?) coupe, whose componentry was derived from the European Ford Granada. It was powered by a 190 hp 2.8-litre turbocharged Ford Cologne V6, also worth mentioning the Ford Cologne V6 is capable of being fitted with twin-turbochargers. It could have also formed the basis for an ATL De Tomaso-Monteverdi equivalent of the Maserati Biturbo if derived from the De Tomasa Deauville and Longchamp instead of the European Ford Granada.
