Obrenovic, yes?

Do they not get chucked out the window?

Or does a claimant (I recall this could have gone bastard or by marriage) challenge and beat the Karageorgevics?

part 1: A night to remember

In the night of 1903, king Alexander of Serbia spent the night trying to survive from Apis and his henchmen by hiding in the secret room in the palace, his wife Draga, on the other hand wasn't lucky, as she tried to escape from one of the conspirators, they instantly gunned her downed. Alexander survived because he heard them break in and immediately bolted towards the secret room that was, fortunately not blocked by Draga's wardrobe. Now he was praying that someone would save him, and thats when he heard them enter the room, everything in him was silent the only thing he heard was the assassins grunting and cursing, trying to find him '' where is that bastard'' one said, another ''he has to be here'', until one caught his attention '' we have to hurry before the guards arrive'' it wasn't what he said that got him it was who said it: Apis. He didn't know when the guards would get here all he could do was wait ''damn you Apis'' he thought, but just as he thought that he immediately turned pale white when he heard: '' theres something on the wall'', he knew he was finished and that he would see Draga, but when they were about to slide open the door and just as he was counting down his fate, gunshots rang out and then bodies thudded against the floor.

Hi, and welcome to the site, I don't know enough about Serbian History to comment on the story but am intrigued and will watch for future updates.
Just a heads up this timeline would be better in the post 1900 forum than help and rules, you will certainly get more readers and comments if you repost your Timeline there.
Good luck with the rest of your tale.
Dave

part 2: survival

what seemed like a eternity, everything was dead silent until someone finally spoke ''your majesty are you here'', he heard it about two times until he finally stood up and slide open the door and there standing were his bodyguards. ''thank god your alive, your highness'' the captain said under him where the dead bodies of the assassins only Apis was alive but barely, Alexander kicked him in the gut saying ''thats for my wife, you son of a bitch.''
After the entire ordeal was over Apis was executed for regicide and attempted regicide. In his office, king Alexander of the obrenovic dynasty (the rulers of serbia since its independence) signed the order to investigate the Black Hand organisation that tried to kill him. After that he recieved a telegram from Austrian kaiser Franz Joseph issuing his condolences and well wishes, then from Edward vii of Great Britain, and finally from Wilhelm ii of the German empire.
The ones he didn't receive were Nicholas ii of the Russian empire and Nicholas I, prince of Montenegro ''so much for Slavic unity'' he mused and thinking remembering when Nicholas ii congratulated him on his wedding with Draga. ''why would he do this?, just as I was about to leaned more to Russia.'' ''the only who did care was Franz joseph, maybe I should reevaluate the alliance.''
He was finally brought of his thinking when general Stepa Stapanovic entered the office, ''your majesty there are crowds of people outside the senate.'' ''what should I do?'' Alexander asked, Stepa replied ''the most reasonable response should be you to meet the crowd and assured them that you are safe.'' Alexander thought about it and five minutes later stood up began to walk outside as soon as he stepped out he was meet with applause cheers then he finally spoke: ''yes, there was attempt on my life and yes I have survived, my wife was not as lucky but by god's grace I stand here and I am here to assure you all as long as I live I will continue to serve the motherland and her people/ long live serbija!''
