Austrian Revolution

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but the topic has fascinated me recently. What if a French Reovlution-esque style thing happens in Austria? It might be hard, but the country was somewhat of a backwater in terms of feudalism and government as well, so could it be possible?

For a start the beloved Emperor Josef has died way earlier. The new Emperor wants to redo the Age of Enlightment reforms of Joseph an his mother Maria Theresia. In Vienna, after food shortages, citizens assemble. Then the authorities respond with a crackdown wich triggers more unrest which spread to other cities, too. Papers are found around the country that demand basic political rights. The authorithies are in uproar the Emperor demands the death penalty for conspiracy. Some enlightened nobles stand up against the monarch and demand him to abdicate. Meanwhile in Prag and Budapest, Czechs and Hungarians protest for recognition as autonomous entities. Proto-nationalist uproar is heard everywhere in the Habsburgian Empire suddenly. Some radical German intellectuals even call for the end of the Habsburg Empire and want the Germans to unite. They call upon their "Deutsche Brueder" to protest for unification.

For a successful French Revolution, the monarch must be a Louis XVI analogue. IN this case, the monarch is Leopold II. Which is also enlightened. But way more competent. And he would not let the situation deteriorate to such an extent. Or be cowed by mobs or nobles.
