Austria-Hungary as Unitary state like France

:p I would prefer Vienna, since it is also the Imperial city of the Habsburgs. I think the austrian parliament is a bit small to function as a common parliament for a multi ethnic empire. The Hungarians would keep their parliament, it would function as the Hungarian Landtag.

I am not sure it is possible France had a lot of time to centralise Hungary became Habsburg in 1538 by that time France was already vastly more centralised then Austria even the German Empire was not that centralised.

You could make something like Spain or Italy with their autonomous regions: not really a unitary state, not really a federation either.

The problem remain as the Hasburg dont' really like to give up power so any federal or even democratic reform as to pass over their body

you say they don't like to give away their power (i doubt any monarch is really liking that), even though bot franz ferdinand and Karl WANTED reforms, they just werent able to make any. Franz ferdinand died before he could do anything and would have had to crush the hungarian nobility, or it already got crushed in 1905 or earlier before he gets emperor. Emperor Karl was in the middle of a war, not the best time for reformations, and the hungarian nobility still hindered him from doing anything. But the fact is, that both realized that the empire needs reforms.
Also the cisleithanian part of the empire which was ruled by the habsburgs was quite democratic, atleast compared to the hungarian part.
Franz Joseph was the kind of guy who disliked reforms, but also that has its reasons, during franz josephs reign the monarchy got weakened significantly, so its no real wonder he was against reforms or changes. Franz ferdinand and Karl seem much more open minded when it comes to reforms.

FF mostly played with time. His "support" for various reform schemes like a third Slavic crown was more about telling the Magyar nobility to know their place, than to actually make any reforms. The Habsburgs really wanted a change, a change that would abolish both parliaments and re-establish absolute monarchy and rule through the military.

can you show me any proof of this ? because from what i have read, franz ferdinand planed nothing like this, he wanted to have a single parliament but with the various states having their own landtag/volkstag and that does not mean a absolute monarchy/dictatorship.
so please show me a valid proof for this.
