Australian Horse Nomads

I guess you could see camels in Australia if Arab traders get there, find something of interest, and set up a settlement. They'll probably bring camels if they settle an arid area (most of the continent). Maybe the camels will go feral after the settlement is abandoned, and the aborigines domesticate and ride them. Implausible, but it'd do the trick.
Given the areas likely to be settled and the (relitively) local avalibility of animals you're more likely to see ugly little ponies and buffelos introduced than camels.

Somewhere floating aound in the back of my head is the story of a Muslim St Patrick. The son of wealth javanese trading family he is washed overboard or shipwrecked prays to Allah to save him and is washed ashore in northern Australia. Aboriginals nurse him back to health and he wanders with them for seven years before finally meeting up with Timorese/Macassan seaman collecting sea cucumber who allow him to work his passage home. Cue the tearful lost son returns scene then he tells the folks he has promised his self to Allah and heads for the nearest Mosque to become Mullah.

Because of his families wealth it is possible for him complete the Hajj the pilgrimage to Mecca. There his tales of the strange south lands and its people so in need of the Word attracts the attention of the Sultan as well as other pilgrims. The Sultan a cunning man realises he can kill two birds with one stone and finances the cost of the journey back to the south land. He puts his troublesome nephew in charge thus removing a threat, he is doing his Islamic duty in spreading the word of Allah and there is also the potental of new trade.

no one liikes my marsupialorse?

It changes the history of the aborigines extensively, resulting in an agricutural civ with cities and extensive trade in South and SE Asia. The Morse Horsupial becomes the dominant pack and mount animal in these areas tho it never spreads much beyond Japan due to the contemporary horses's dominance.
