ATL Quotes that is obviously false in OTL.

OK, I put it a bit clumsy there, but this example sums it.

"Yankees and Americans are completely different people"
This is from Decades of Darkness.

In OTL this would be wrong.

Here is another example

"The North and the South, united in peace by 1900?! That could never have happened!"

See?

Try to put a bit of background to the quote.

'Of course, everyone forgets that the British Revolution began in Massachusetts in 1775 and didn't even reach Britain until 1781. It just goes to show that Britain's reputation for poor education is not unfounded.'

Double-whammy there. Booyah!

Basically, rather than declare independence, the Americans try and 'reform' the British Empire. The American rebellion is quickly crushed by the army due to lack of conviction amongst the rebels. But their rhetoric reaches England's shores. Monarchy and aristocracy are overthrown and the British Grand Republic is established. The stereotype of Brits ITTL is of ignorant working class toughs going to schools which primarily teach a good right hook rather than arithmetic. Not very fair but when is it ever?

Here's one from an ATL which seems to be believed by some IOTL

The Star Spangled Banner was, of course originally set to the tune of the 'Anacreonic Song'.-From some random TL. Not likely at all. This society was virtually unknown outside Britain and perhaps a very few high-society circles in America at the time it was written, and given that its author was neither a Londoner nor a high-society person, how pray tell, could this be possible?
