What if, instead of Archduke Franz Ferdinand being assassinated in Sarajevo, it was the emperor, Franz Joseph I? Franz Ferdinand becomes emperor as a result of being crown prince. How differently would he have handled this crisis with Serbia?
I think Franz Ferdinand handles the situation properly... World War I started on the most unbelievable reason. He was less reactionary than his father, and wanted to give more power to other nationalities (to counter the Hungarians). Maybe he would not made the last term of the OTL July Ultimatum (Point 6 that Austrian police be allowed to operate in Serbia).
The Problem is that you can't bring FJ to visit Sarajevo
But more importantly is the fact that FJ is not the ENEMY of the slavic People (hes too old for that) - Ist FF who wants to Reform the Monarchy in a way that might persuade the Serbs within the Monarchy to believe that A-H is the "better" slavic Nation...
