Asia vs Europe: most advanced iin 1500?

Hi all,
I had a general question.

Asia is considered very advanced compared to Europe around 1500, especially in term of economy complexity and integration in a massive world-economy. But the Europeans weren't exactly backward either with a network of banks and credit.

So was one more advanced than the other?

It's pretty hard to quantify at a time when advancement was much more incremental.

It's not like the 19th/20th century when there was a huge, massive and noticeable disparity.

More than in quantitative terms, I'm more thinking complexity of the economy.

Strength of credit, banking... This kinda thing
