Asia for the Asians?

The Japanese were very brutal to the Chinese in WW2, what if they were more fair in the war? instead of brutal attacks like the sack of Nanjing, what if they were more in the idea of an Asian Empire, with the Japanese as the big brothers to everyone else?
the support of the Chinese would have gone a long way against the Americans, and the indusrial capability would have equaled the Americans.
what would have been the result of this POD, and is this POD even possible?

I believe there was something along the lines of Japanese racial doctrine of superiority. I am not sure when this was introduced though...

Religious intervention perhaps?

Is racial superiority something in the line of Ultranationalism? If so, this started in the twenties when Japan came up with Hakko Ichiu. The real first effects were felt in the 1930s, when Inukai Tsuyoshi was assassinated.

I think the Japanese regarded their emperor as the son of Amaterasu, so everything he declared was a holy commandment.

The Japanese would either have to adopt their treatment of Taiwan as their standard for Korea and later China, or adopt a "cultural superiority" instead of racial superiority attitude so that non-Japanese can become Japanese.

Without one (and preferably both) the Japanese are going to do pretty much what they did IOTL.

So, let's say the Army dishonors itself in Korea, by doing something really, really, really bad that gets into japanese media. The Army is cut back, and naval commanders take charge in Korea. Army troops are infused with naval officers, to keep an eye on their behavior.

Of course, Korea is a different fish from Taiwan, and it has a larger population and much more established culture, and also is quite patriotic at this time. While the Taiwanese were just happy as long as they had a competent ruler, I wonder if the Koreans would be.
