ASB Regional Powers

Been mulling this over for a bit now. If each of the following nations decided to go all-out Manifest Destiny on their respective regions, how far could we expect them to get before finally sputtering out? Take each one at the height of their military strength and force projection ability between 1900 through the present day.

Argentina
Brazil
Nigeria
South Africa
India
Australia

Assume this is an ASB experiment, so no outside interference, just them versus any and all of their neighbors they can reach, kill and occupy. And yes, some of the candidates are close neighbors, so also just assume that each is operating in its own timeline. Just curious as to how you all would see these playing out.

India, assuming this is pre-1997, could conquer Pakistan (though it wouldn't be easy). Bangladesh and Burma would be easier, but the odds of this not causing some kind of outrage will be remote.

South Africa would probably have the easiest time as they have the strongest military in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Australia has the amphibious capability to invade New Zealand, New Guinea and West Papua. The rest of Indonesia is probably out of the question, though Australia has naval and air superiority.

I think the ASB here assumes no outside intervention by countries not directlly involved.

South Africa will actually have a very difficult time holding its territory. None of its neighbors can challenge it in conventional warfare, but the occupation would be hellish.

India, I think, bogs down once it's invading Iran and Afghanistan in the west and Southeast Asia in the east.

I think Australia could balkanise Indonesia by supporting breakaway movements and stopping Indonesian intervention by using air and naval power. This weakens Indonesia without too much effort on Australia`s part, swinging the balance our way.

Would intervention of the rest of the British Empire count for a Canadian timeline? They were part of the Empire until the 1930s.

In South America Brazil would be a bit larger, annexing OTL French Guyana, keeping Uruguay at all costs and maybe trying to "round off" its borders with Parana and Paraguay rivers with the annexation of OTL Argentine provinces of Entre Rios, Corrientes and Misiones - that was an old plan of Portuguese King John VI in the early 19th. Century.

As for Argentina, an earlier Falklands War and the annexation of Chile....Argentina and Brazil could fight for Uruguay as well.
