Asad Babil

August 1992 - calmly addressing selected members of the Jordanian press, the Jordanian King Hussein strongly denounces the Kuwaiti resistance for both the bombing of the Amman flight a day before and for their increasing affiliation with Islamist and Palestinian groups who still work against Jordan. To the shock of his western allies the King announces that Jordan will no longer recognise the Kuwaiti regime as the legitimate and though they will not yet recognise Iraq's annexation of Kuwait, they will support a referendum to confirm Kuwait's annexation to Iraq by it's people. The international community will turn around and condemn Jordan's later flouting of UN sanctions of Iraq.

October 1991 - Colonel General Blagoje Adzic triumphantly strolls through the former seat of the Slovene government in Ljubjana as he comes to accept the surrender of the city and of the Slovene nationalist government under Milan Kucan. The Slovenes were subdued quickly and bloodlessly, earning Colonel General Adzic many accolades from President Solobodan Milosevic but the situation in Croatia would be radically different.
