So the successors of William the Lion of Scotland used a red lion on a gold field as their arms.
OTL the Stuarts used a lion within a double tressure that was florry/fleury to represent French support for their independence from English overlordship.

If the Dunkelds continue and there's no immediate threat of English conquest what arms would become traditional for Scotland?
