I believe so. Unless the absence of the Iraq War butterflies away the large youth populations without jobs, corrupt autocracies, and the rise of social media, something's gonna erupt, though probably not starting on a Tunisian street at the start of 2011.

The Arab spring turned out not to be a spring at all, you know that right?

Anyway it all started in Tunesia, Libya and Egypt anyway, not Iraq or even Syria.

US Invasion of Iraq made it more difficult for Iraq to maintain order, which led to the rise of Daesh and the civil war.

Oh I know. Call it Arab winter or even Arab apocalyps. I just use it as it started like a 'spring'

It might be earlier, perhaps with reduced outrage on the street over the invasion in Iraq, there's a closer focus by citizens on domestic conditions that makes the ugliness they find intolerable sooner.
