Any WWI experts?

In terms of strength, what is the order of the great powers of Europe - as in a combination of military and economic factors. My mostly random guess from strongest to weakest.

1. Germany
2. Britain
3. Russia
4. France
5. Austria-Hungary
6. Italy

I am relatively confident in #1 and #2. Not sure if Russia and France should switch places or Austria-Hungary and Italy should either. Correct me?

Your ranking system is rather nebulous. If you were talking about military potential, then perhaps I would rank what you have here. But really, I would have to say at war's start, Britain would be significantly farther down the list as far as power projection goes. Speaking just of military/military industry at the start of the war I would say:
German
France
Russian
Britain/AH
Italy

Now, in terms of potential (which includes those that would have the most help from the US, another major factor in boosting potential)
Germany
France
Britain
Russian
AH
Italy (Italy was weak in production, but was beefed up by her allies significantly)

Surely Britain has the most potential? Naval dominance, vast colonial manpower, huge treasury reserves, industrial capabilities on par with Germany and definately above France, innovative military establishment. This showed in 1918 when France was exausted and it was the BEF that carried the fight to the Germans.
