Any Interest in a Collaborative Oral History Timeline?

Hello Everyone...

I was thinking back the other day about how last year, we attempted a Collaboratve Oral History TL, which was started by The Vulture and can be found here. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in trying anoher one, since I know we have alot of good writers here who can come up with creative and plausible ideas. One of the thoughts I had was that we make the TL turn based like a map game, in which we each sign up for a different year to write events on to make thing flow better and we won`t get ahead of ourselves.

As for what the actual TL would be on, I wasn`t sure. One of my ideas was Dwight Eisenhowers health going on the decline in 1956, which stops him from running for re-election, and leading to a Nixon Presidency 12 years early. Other ideas I had were the Reagen Assassination attempt being a success, or the Mckinely Assassination being a failure if we wanted to be more ambitious. We don`t have to do any of these of course, and anyone should feel free to post their ideas. I feel that if we have a specific POD though, it`ll make things easier for all of us.

So, anyone interested? Let me know. :)

Here's a few ideas. What if Brezhnev was forced to step down from power like Khrushchev was, and voted out of office? Ford wins the 76 election?

Well I loved World War Z and would like to contribute to something similar, though US politics isn't my strong suit and everyone seems to be tilting towards some kind of alternate presidency, how about Ross Perot, not pulling out and then back into the race during the 1992 elections? or taking a bit more advice from his people?

I'm interested, and perhaps we could have it set as a result of that, an alternate space race? If so, I would like to do the space race parts.

I would love to contribute. And I agree with tukk, I think Perot '92 would be very interesting.

Okay, so far ideas we have include...

-Nixon in '56
-Mckinely Lives
-Reagan Dies
-Brezhnev forced to step down
-Ford in '76
-Alternate Space Race
-Perot in '92

If anyone wants to suggest some more ideas, now would be a good time. I'll probably put up a poll to pick one tomorrow sometime. Also, we could probably include a Alternate Space Race in with any of these.:)

Yes, but for the alternate space race, the POD could either be in 1918, or around 1930. Either one, Goddard continues/joins up with the Army to research on rockets.

How about Nixon winning in 1960? That's a fairly basic PoD that we could play off of in new, and interesting ways with this unique format. Plus this PoD isn't a specifically political one. Ford winning in '76, or Nixon running and winning in '56 would only cause major American political ramifications I imagine. Or those would be the only ramifications posted about.

A Nixon in '60 PoD provides a lot of different areas to work with.
