Any good Western Roman empire scenarios?

Attila takes advantage of the 446 Constantinople earthquake and invades the Eastern Empire, taking the Goths with him, while mostly ignoring the West?

Magnus maximus.

Also, interesting fact, his full name is flavius Magnus maximus Augustus. Parents must have had some crazy fucking high hopes for him, I guess.

Julian loses at Argentoratum, leading to the fall of Gaul and then Italy half a century earlier. However, the Alemanni/Franks/whichever Germans conquer Italy aren’t Arian, meaning that they simply usurp the Western Empire and its institutions and aren’t ever invaded by the East.

Cato's Cavalry counts as a late Roman Empire TL, although the Western Empire splits into various parts.

How about Anthemius invading the Western Roman Empire on behalf of the East with a bigger army than IOTL instead of going there to take the throne, and defeat his foes? The difference from OTL is that his position ITTL as an outsider would allow him to crack down the Senatorial aristoracy. The WRE was effectively in a similar position to the PLC during the partitions, and reforms could only be imposed by outsiders.

I think there's a Romulus Augustulus timeline somewhere. Another possibility, arguably disqualified as it would be a Western revival rather than continuity, would be to have Belisarius reign in the West.

Claudius II Gothicus lives longer?

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't bother to see LATE empire. This could still be cool though.

Has anybody ever written an outline, timeline or story based on this premise that is available and worth looking at?
