Those are boring...and cant' recall one, those are mostly fan maps oneshots...but don't have a link for one...sorry
WW1 was the most important event of the 20th Century and came close to not happening. How can TLs where it didn't happen be boring?

I think it has more to do with the fact that their more difficult to make compelling. Like you said they were the events that shaped the 20th century, and because of them, the present day is what it is. I think its more difficult to write about a world like that because the implications are a very different 2018
So there might not be as much appeal to write them (or to write alternate ww1 & ww2)

Isn't the whole point of this website to look at how history could've been different?

I liked your effort in the Archduke Lives, the challenge is that once we get outside of the immediate POD and its close shadows then it becomes increasingly speculative and then a fiction rooted in history. In my own effort I abandoned reaching to present day and settled for 50 years after 1914, even then a 1964 world where Imperial Germany was undefeated and the war ends in a virtual stalemate is daunting alteration to the intervening history. As I further limit the war itself to make the premise more realistically attainable I alter more and more, a non-belligerent Britain, Italy and the Ottomans, a USA that has different Presidents to guide her out of the war and help ease the UK from the Entente, etc. Each thread unravels more and more. Move 50 years forward and I fear many will find the world a pure fiction. So I think it is easier to stay close to events as known and dissect the alternatives in a moment rather than sweep away everything known. I feel I can tell a story in this alternative world of mine but to lay out 50 years of change might read like computer code.

Honestly it's easier to follow a timeline and change somethings rather than start from scratch.

That and most people would like to write another American timeline instead.

Yeah they are rare simply because they are A LOT of work, you basically have to world build everything after a point.
