A Story to be Told: The Memoirs of Emperor Franz Ferdinand

We arrived at the Sarajevo Hospital safely and in a timely fashion, but the fool, Edmund Gerde, had forgotten to tell the first driver in our little convoy about the change in plans, so he took a right on to Franz Josef Street. The second driver, having some competence, continued straight down Appel Quay. My own driver informed me and Sophie that the other driver must have still been following the old itinerary. At the hospital Sophia and I personally visited with all of those injured by that vicious attempt at assassinating my person. I of course made sure to grab Oskar's aide, because of Gerde's proven deficiency. For the same reason I would reprimand the man later in the day. And when he somehow managed to bungle up the investigation of the bombing I removed man from his office, but I'll go into more detail about that later...

Interesting so far...

The UK also has another reason why they aren't paying much attention internationally: Irish Home Rule. The British Parliament was just about to start another round of battles over the whole issue of Ireland and vote on the Irish Home Rule bill when OTL World War 1 came and the Parliament decided to delay the discussion of the bill until after World War 1. Here, without World War 1, the British will have their hands full debating over Irish Home Rule, which may or may not lead to the Unionists or the Nationalists in revolt or a civil war.
