Wouldn't the United States be likely to support them as they're not communists and they don't threaten any US interestsIn Ethiopia, you could see the communist Derg being overthrown and have Orthodox Christian extremists seize power in the 80s as the Derg becomes increasingly bogged down in pacifying resistance movement after resistance movement throughout Ethiopia.
I can see the US coming to provide material support and advisors as Ethiopia becomes a religious state of Orthodox Christians which might even restore the monarchy. Not to mention, Ethiopia is placed quite strategically on the Horn of Africa and with Eritrea, able to affect other African and/or Middle Eastern states along the Red Sea.Wouldn't the United States be likely to support them as they're not communists and they don't threaten any US interests
