- Doesn't build a fleet to invade Cyprus, going against the terms of the truce with Rome
I reckon that the Seleucid empire could have had it's lifespan extended quite a bit if Antiochus didn't invade Cyprus, as he wouldn't have infringed on the treaty of Apamea. In this case the Romans may not have sent an emissary to demand the withdrawal of soldiers occupying Egypt, ending the Seleucid's rivals and providing them with some of the known world's most fertile lands, which would have certainly had great economic benefits, aiding an already strong economy. Later he died, without an heir, then Alexander Balas became king. Alexander was an incompetent fool who by no means was not good for Seleucid power. If Antiochus had an heir there would have been no Alexander Balas.
