hey, all. in addition to my main ASB ATL, this idea popped into my head last week and ive done minimal playing-around with it since then. i just thought that the best way to develop it further would be to open it up to discussion
basically, the idea is that the US and the UK never get on good terms again like they did IOTL. there could be any number of reasons for this: perhaps the war of 1812 is a really bitter conflict, so the US sends troops to help napoleon even though they had beaten britain before. like i said, this idea is still in the early stages of development.
over the next century, the US becomes more closely aligned to britain's enemies--namely france and ireland--while britain gets cozier with different powers. its possible that britain may help the confederates while france helps the union, but this may not have any impact on the war's ultimate outcome.
by the time WW1 rolls around, the US, france, and irish rebels would presumably all be on the same side while britain joins germany. thats about as far as ive gotten thus far with this idea
