As I'm sure you are all aware Wallace was one of two commanders of the Scottish Army at Stirling Bridge. The other commander was a noble called Andrew Murray who had already defeated the English garrisons in the North with just a small attachment of followers. He was made joint Guardian of Scotland with Wallace after the Battle of Stirling Bridge, but sadly for Scotland he soon died of his battle wounds leaving Wallace as sole Guardian of Scotland. My question is what if Andrew Murray survived? What would it mean for Scotland would he have managed to win against Edward I, and could it lead to a restoration of the Balliols?
