"Anchors Aweigh" remains the Democrats' campaign song, 1932

"Mindful of how important establishing positive associations with Roosevelt were, Ed Flynn persuaded Howe to switch the campaign song from 'Anchors Away' [sic!--DT] to 'Happy Days Are Here Again,' which was the finale of the 1930 film Chasing Rainbows." https://books.google.com/books?id=6spDDgAAQBAJ&pg=PA122

POD: Democrats keep "Anchors Aweigh" as their campaign song in 1932 and thereafter. Although originally its use in 1932 was presumably a reference to FDR's Navy Department background and love of sailing, it is also used by subsequent Democratic candidates simply as an indication that they are in the FDR tradition (though of course in the case of JFK and some later candidates it will also have a specifically naval reference). Republican use of the song wil sound almost defiant (even when a Navy veteran like Nixon is their candidate)--like Reagan's use of "Happy Days Are Here Again" in OTL...

From 1932 to 1944, probably nothing changes. But in close races like 1948 and 1960 it might make some difference since the song emphasized the Democrats' appeal as the party of prosperity and the New Deal. But Truman and Kennedy's victories had apparently little to do with the choice of their campaign song; rather their decisions as politicians and the ineptitude of their opponents made the difference.
