Anarchism in the CSA

But how the CSA does is going to strongly influence how people see the government there, which is going to influence how they feel about a policy of anarchism.

People who like and trust their government are hardly going to embrace anarchism.

Coalition in his post was say that the CSA would collapse and be taken over by the US.
Hard to have a discussion of Anarchism or any other political development if the CSA no long exists.

Oh certainly. My point is, we can't talk about how politics develop in the CSA without knowing the state of the CSA - it can fail as a state without that meaning automatic reannexation.

It isn't automatic annexation, but would the USA leave a large land mass that is nothing but anarchy alone, especially when that land mass used to be part of the United States?

Mexico would be left alone as it has not been part, but the seceding states would be encouraged to turn over their government repeatedly, until the various town governments decide to rejoin the US.

At the very least, a weakened and divided neighbor would be a breeding ground for all sorts of troubles, so the United States would be keeping a close eye on it. The more the country descends into anarchy, the more likely the United States would move to reclaim it.

I think a lot depends on what we're looking at here at here. And encouraging people to turn over their government doesn't necessarily mean there will be an enthusiastic response.

Most likely, but the US does have other interests and concerns. And in this scenario, unlike a stronger CSA, it won't be lining the borders with troops - so that element won't be weakening a fragile CSA (ironically).
