An idea - 42 years of Clinton vs Bush

Just a silly thought that popped into my head. POD is Reagan gets assasinated on the 2-year anniversary of being sworn into office. After some wrangling, it's decided George H.W. Bush will get to serve less than half of the remaining term (albeit by only a few hours), allowing him to run for office two more times. The following years look like this:

Saint Reagan 1981-1983
Bush the Elder 1983 - 1985
Bush the Elder 1985 - 1989
Bush the Elder 1989 - 1993

Bill 1993 - 1997
Bill 1997 - 2001

Bush the Younger 2001 - 2005
Bush the Younger 2005 - 2009

Hillary 2009 - 2013
Hillary 2013 - 2017

Bush the Brother 2017 - 2021
Bush the Brother 2021 - 2025

What do you think a TL with such a succession of presidents would look like? Whether or not the 2024 election is between George P. Bush and Chelsea Clinton is up to you.

I've thought about this before, but it just gets too convergent and implausible after a while with only two families ruling America for decades.

The USA would never last that long under such guaranteed mismanagement.

What two families? Bush, and his two sons... And what? Clinton and his wife? I find the whole idea that the Clintons are even close to as dynastic as a family with a grandfather, a son, and two grandsons were in high positions of power.

The big thing here is that you've completely changed the 1992 election. Without having an incumbent Bush with high approval ratings running, you're going to have more big name democrats throw their hats into the ring. Obviously, Clinton can still win the nomination, but it's going to be tougher for him, and he will be going up against a different republican candidate.

As for Jeb, the 2016 election is going to be even tougher for him than it is now because H.W. had 10 years instead of 4, and there hasn't been a break in the Bush/Clinton cycle like in OTL.

Some major changes to American psyche would have to occur to have the people accept Chelsea and P. both getting the nominations in 2024. The American people will want change.

One question. Does George W. Bush still run for Governor of Texas if his father serves more than one term in office as President? If I remember correctly (and correct me if I'm wrong), one of the key reasons George W was motivated to run for Governor in 1994 was his dad's loss in '92. Without that, Dubya may not even enter politics, and that could produce enough butterflies to get Jeb into office four years earlier. So, instead of 42 years of Bush-Clinton, how about 34:

41. George H.W. Bush (Republican): 1983-1993

42. William J. "Bill" Clinton (Democratic): 1993-2001

43. John E. "Jeb" Bush (Republican): 2001-2009

44. Hillary Rodham Clinton (Democratic): 2009-2017
