Yeah, the U.N is seen as this ineffective mess, and Western Sahara has become irrelevant due to other conflicts. Why is that?
Because I'm too lazy to go back over every entry to check - has anyone done a world where the Nationalists kept control of more of China than just Taiwan?

I just like the idea of taking a cruel state and making them less cruel. Maybe it is some wishful thinking on my part. Maybe I could make it an Islamic technocracy instead? Or make it anarcho-Islamic?

Like a National Glory Scenario? KMT was losing fast in the Civil War and Taiwan was the only option after Sichang fell. You need to have some factionalism in the CCP or make it less popular, but that will be hard.
Misread cruel state as Trucial State. Anyone have any ideas of what the future of the Trucial States might have if the British didn't withdraw? For fun imagine that Bahrain & Qatar join in. Which as a knock on might lead to the Emir of Abu Dhabi as always being the first among equals. (Might end up somewhat like Switzerland viewed through an extremely bizarre looking glass). (Note, you could probably put Switzerland's OTL government in here as an entry. )

Thanks. Argentina does something a little like that OTL- 30% of the candidates for any given political party have to be women, and many other Latin American countries have similar requirements.
I was looking around reddit, and I found this; it's a charter for the government of a syndicalist monarchy. Has anyone done anything like this yet on this thread?

Seeing them do it in Oregon has more shock value. I thought about an entire timeline with cults and fringe groups exploiting an 80s nuclear war. Aum Shin Ryko Japan, Branch Davidian Texas, though that got in Protect and Survive somewhere, LA punk scene ruled ruins of Los Angeles with Darby Crash's Circle One taking over then Crash getting overthrown by Exene Cervenka from the band X.
