No popular revolt against the Nazi puppet regime after the Nazis got nuked back to the Stone Age?

The Japanese used almost all of their nukes against the Nazis in Europe. America barely got hit, and they already had a cadre of American Nazis running things because the government in Germania was more concerned about Old World matters.

OK, so why didn't the American people throw those guys out for being collaborationist scum? Even if the Man in the High Castle stage lasted to '63 there are a lot of Americans and most of them wouldn't be too fond of the Nazis.

So National Socialism survived and branched off into a full political spectrum......

Because they still had all of the apparatus of a totalitarian state that could root out and destroy any concerted attempts to overthrow them. The nuclear balance was far in favor of the Nazis ITTL, so they suffered almost no damage in America, while the Japanese were destroyed and the Nazi Americans only needed to move a small force to secure the West Coast. The American opposition simply didn’t have the physical means of overthrowing their collaborationist/homegrown Nazi leaders. It doesn’t help that the post-war American Nazis have turned around and called themselves patriots for reunifying the country and have officially declared independence from the Third Reich, and have spent the last few decades rebranding themselves as an American patriotic movement.

That's pretty...morbidly interesting to say the least, heck all of this makes me think there ought to be a tv show based on this but given the whole crapshow in Charlottesville I'm not sure if the public can stomach this concept.

I am actually.............really interested. Anyone want to make a new thread?

You two are just reading too much into what I wrote. I have honestly no idea.XD I just put two fairly contradicting terms together.
I dunno, I think it can't be that hard to imagine a politically correct nanny state gone rabid.

Say, something like the future seen in Kage Baker's Company novels, but with less lameness and more beating people to death with bike locks, or whatever Fox News says the Ess Jay Dubblyas are supposed to be up to nowadays.

Yeah, but ultimately when you take left-liberalism and up the totalitarianism knob it's pretty much just Stalinist Russia.

Well, that depends on if you go with the actual left-liberalism, or if you go with the stereotypical crunchy granola "Tumblrina" version.

C'mon, all I'm asking for is someone that isn't a Right-Wingnut who genuinely believes Yoga and Veganism are an insidious plot to destroy American Values(tm), to do a riff on Commiefornia, is that too much to ask?

I'm fairly certain a lot of the Tumblrina critiques are coming from vaguely libertarian/centrist/self-described left-libertarians and classical liberals, at least as much as it is coming from what could be described as the right. Of course, you might think that their characterization of left-liberalism isn't "actual" left-liberalism either.

Could be.

I'm just saying, it'd be nice to have someone approach the theme who isn't clearly writing screeds about the awfulness of their ideological enemies with one hand.

Ummm... what... ? :D
Oh, you sweet summer child...
