An Englsih revolution circa 1790

Could there have been a French style overthrow of Britain's corrupt government some time between 1785 and 1795?

If so what would be the consequences

You might be able to do something if the American WoI goes differently, but the best situation is the 1830s Chartists/Corn Laws/Catholic Emancipation/possibly king Ernst Augustus.

I am not sure that corrupt would be the word to use. Certainly elitist and unrepresanative, but not corrupt.

The trouble with revolutions in the UK is whom is overthrown? Is it the governement or the monarcy?

Also at this time we where persuing our favourite past time (war with France since you ask) so revolution less likely.

If it did happen I would see a war more like the ARW than the French revolution, with the top people replaced with a more democratic system, but still strongly favouring the rich and powerful.

Your best bet is the ARW. It was really a continuation of a series of British civil wars dating back to the mid seventeenth century with the American Revolutionaries taking the part of the Parliamentarians/Whigs/Hannoverians and the British the role of the Royalists/Tories/Jacobites (ironic isn't it?). The complaints of the colonists in 1775 were very similar to the complaints of the parliamentarians in 1639. If you can somehow work out a way to export the revolution to Britain's shores then hey presto! A British (I'm assuming btw you mean British, no english) revolution

I think an empire wide Revolutionary War between Republicans and Monarchists in the 1770s would be a lot more interesting.

I know that this would issue a whole slew of butterflies, but maybe if the Stuarts keep control of the throne, we might see a more absolutist Britain. Since George I found himself in a fairly weak position when he inherited the throne, Parliament became more powerful. So perhaps Anne has surviving issue, or one of the Jacobite rebellions succeed. This then leads to a French style absolute monarchy that disenfranchises the middle class, causing them to be more liable to revolt against the monarchy, which is exactly what happened in France.

It could be extremely interesting. However, you would have to have the colonists consciously forging links with oppositional forces in the British Isles. They were quite parochial, all things considered, so you need to link their struggle to the concerns of the English/Scottish/Welsh people. Avoid the Irish, and the Highland Scots, otherwise you'll lose all (or almost all) support in England...
It's a tricky one.

Yeah, if you somehow undo the Glorious Revolution...
Once you've had the War of Three Kingdoms, you can count out any Stuart absolutism in England. You'd need Charles to win the Civil War, far as I can see.
