My first alternative history, as told by the Palmyrene soldier, Zomnius Lepianus.

Emesa, 272 AD
Her Imperial Majesty sat on her brown mare next to general Zabdas, just behind our own ranks.
Zomnius Lookes over the ranks and the battlefield, all filled with troops. He was a Clibinarii, a heavy cavalryman.
A shout was heard. "AAAADVAAAANCE!". The whole massive body of men advanced at once, without utteringa word. The same shout was heard coming from the enemy lines, and the same thing happen to the enemy troops.
After the shameful defeat at Immae inflicted to the Palmyrene by the Romans, Zomnius felt ashamed. While he heeled his horse, he thought that he would never make the same mistake as he did at Immae. The entire army has made mistakes, that is how we lost. But his mistake, he will never repeat. He thought of revenge. He thought of all the men that died at Immae, and of so-called "Emperor" Aurelian and his treacherous tactics. Pah! He is not valourous or worthy enough to even fit the title!
The opposing sides came dangerously close to each other, almost clos enough to throw their pilla. He heard the cavalry commander shout "CHAAARGE!". He lowered his spear, repeated the command, and did as he was commanded...
