An Earlier World War II

Well, as noted, the Soviets could be more active in Spain. Perhaps there were clashes between German and Soviet regular forces? Stalins paranoia boils over and he orders the Baltics and eastern Poland invaded, occupied and secured. As in Shattered World the Red Army rolls into Poland and graps the country - Thukatjevskij and the pre-purges Red Army would have demolished the poor poles. Finland is then being threatened to give in to Soviet demands and blahblahblah... We might even end up with France and Britain financing Germanys war against the terrible red menace! :)

Regarding the A-bomb. With a obviously hostile and very dangerous USSR to the east Sweden, Denmark and possibly Norway begins the seek closer relations with Germany. Danish volunteers is sent to the Eastern front etc etc. And most importantly one scientist from Københavns Universitets fysics department begins, on the request of Walter Heisenberg, to work with his colleaques in Berlin on a special bomb project... oh, and who might that scientist be, you ask? Why, Niels Bohr of course...
