In the year of his only son's death (1532), the deposed King Christian II of Denmark, Sweden & Norway, travelled to Oslo and attempted to convince them to acknowledge fourteen year old Hans as heir to the throne, by crowning him the next king of Norway.
Unfortunately, things did not go in Christian's favor, and he was taken prisoner by his uncle, Frederik I. Hans died in September 1532 in Regensburg where he had been staying with his uncle, the Holy Roman Emperor.
But what if the Riksdag had been willing to accept the proposal? And a double-butterfly makes it that Hans doesn't die at Regensburg. Is there a chance that a completely broken apart Kalmar Union (with different kings in Denmark, Sweden and Norway) could occur. Or does Denmark or Sweden conquer Norway and push it back into personal union with whichever of them does so?
