An Bloddier Capporetto

I was reading about the battle of Caporretto(aka the favorite POD for an CP late victory knowking out Italian before the Kaiserschlacht) and thinking: How to make a more decissive victory who rather capture almost all the Italians, Killing more of them(a mass death battle have better psicological impact that a simple failure) like the Half of the force(like 150000) being anihilated.

I Think like make a better use of the gas shells and a better use of the Stoßtruppen, tactics and a more rage german force(thanks to the blockade and for that a lot of force suffer of malnutrition) .

It would be quite difficult for the central powers to obtain a more decisive victory: their true problem was a logistic one rather than operative. The offensive stopped when reached the maximum extension allowed by supply. So a possible POD could be a better logistic for the offensive.

Anyway, if you want a late CP victory scenario, I would suggest a different POD: have the italian socialist to withdraw their support to the goverment and start a politic crisis (OTL they gave full support to the executive). This would probably plunge Italy in a civil war and knock her out of the war.

A CP victory timeline in which the Kaiser owes his narrow excape (I assume we'd see a negotiated peace in the West with pretty much status quo ante?) to the political left? Man, I'd like to see that timeline. The diplomacy and politics of this Germany will be interesting. Imagine the Itralian Socialists coming out winners. They'd be in the doghouse with France and Britain and need to ally with A-H and Germany. Same for the Soviets, though I'm not sure whether they wouldn't just be everbody's pariah. Italian Socialism and Soviet Bolshevism could become competing models while Wilhelm desperately tries tostem the tide of anger and the SPD, strengthened by association with victory (especially if the Italian Socialists can spin this into 'standing true to their nation's word'), proceeds to undermine the caste system, of the Prussian state.

I'm not at all sold that this is plausible, but oh, the fun.
