So in 1991 Albania, arguably the most pro-American country in the world, there was a massive movement to hold a referendum to join the United States. Following the NATO bombing that saved so many Albanians Kosovo, the movement grew stronger and by March 2000 the US congress, having noticed the strength in the movement, allowed a referendum to be held on the future status of Kosovo and Albania. In July the results returned from Albanians in Albania and Kosovo, and public opinion polls came in from Albanian communities in Montenegro and Macedonia. All overwhelmingly supported the US annexation and the territory of Albania was established within the borders of Albania and Kosovo. Montenegro and Macedonia Albanians are strongly supporting secession to the Albania territory.
