Colin Powell paced the room slowly.


“You really think I could win?”


“ Sir, with Senator Mc Cain out you’re the only one who has a chance. You’re moderate enough for the independents and the conservatives trust you,” said Steve Schmidt.


“ Really,”


“ Yes.”


There was a long pause.“ I‘ve thought about this many times,” There was another pause. “OK, I’m in. I’m going to run for president of the United States and you Steve, will be my campaign manager.” Said Powell


“It would be my pleasure Sir.”

After a bad showing in the straw poll McCain dropping out of the presidential race today. In his resignation speech he said that “it is not the right time. America needs a leader but I will not be that person. Troubled times are facing our country and we need a President who can lead us through them, but I am not the man.” Speculation that McCain will become the Vice-Presidential nominee of the Republican candidate was fuelled by his remark: “ I will not be President, but don’t rule out anything else.”
