An alternate King of Sweden

When Frederick I needed an heir in 1740s, aside from choices like a Danish prince, Adolf Frederick of Holstein-Gottorp etc. the French candidate was Christian IV of Zweibrucken (1722-1775). What could his election cause and what would be necessary? A stronger France? A huge victory in the War of the Austrian Succession (I've been wanting to do a TL about a French victory for some time so maybe a different Sweden on the side?)

What if Prince William, Duke of Cumberland, son of King George II of Great Britain was elected as king of Sweden.

Bumping....

and oh, another question. With the future Peter III chosen for the Russian throne, who was the Riksdag's favorite? I know they accepted Adolf Fredrik mostly because of the Russian pressure and promise to return most of Finland if he was elected. So, who would the Swedes choose? I know there would be a lot of bribing and scheming but someone had to be.

Wasn't a prince of Mecklenburg-(IDK what) also seriously considered at a point? I know basically the Danes were thinking that Princess Lovisa (sister of Frederik V) would marry whomever came out the winner, but then she went and got knocked up, and had to be married off to the duke of Saxe-Hildburghausen.
