An alternate 1948 Election

1948: Republican nominee Thomas E. Dewey is Elected president over Democratic nominee Harry S. Truman.

1949: With a great economic prosperity in the United States, the Dewey Administration is in good approval ratings, although those who are against his administration point out that his Foreign policy is not very strong, he will soon prove them wrong.

June 1950: Communist North Korea invades it Democratic South neighbor, President Dewey responds with a strong speech issued on national television, he demands North Korea withdraw or "Suffer the Consequences", the following day United States troops were being deployed to South Korea

Korean war 1950-1953: Early in the war US, UN, and South Korean troops gain ground and are able to push back the communist forces, Communist China soon joins the war on the side of the North Koreans and using their manpower are able to push back the Democratic forces. In the US, a draft is issued for the west coast this new policy is called "Regional Drafting" US commanders thought this would be a faster way of getting troops to Korea instead of going around the entire country.

Korea war becomes hotter 1952-1953: General Douglas MacArthur devises a plan that would defeat North Korea and China, but it will take thousands of men and a couple of atomic bombs. Dewey realizes this might start a third world war, but if successful, Communism might collapse in Asia. Dewey agrees to the plan, in early 1952, US and South Korean forces invade North Korea. After 8 months of combat and thousands of casualties, the North finally surrenders, but the Chinese troops continue to fight, in early 1953, the US starts a series of atomic bombings on China, first on the Chinese soldiers on the North Korean border, then on various Military installations, and then finally on the Capital of Beijing. The remnants of the People's republic are driven by the returning Republic of China who reinstall their government with the help of the American.

1952 election: while the Korean threat was being fought, the US election of 1952 is in full swing, Dewey decides he will not run for reelection and his vice president Earl Warren becomes the Republican nominee with former general Dwight D. Eisenhower as his running mate, the two win by a landslide. Many historians point out how their staunch anti-communist views were very similar to Dewey's

THE END

Difficult to imagine Ike not going for the top spot. Moreover, Warren had a tendency to irritate fellow Republicans so that more likely he'd be passed over for the nomination in favor of Ike.

Moved and bumped.

Why are you moving and bumping these?

They were posted over a week ago with no subsequent follow-up by the poster, they are very poorly written despite the poster being from Long Island, they contain dozens of mistakes, and they're just plain bad.

Why bother?

They were posted in the wrong forum. He goofed up, I corrected his mistake. Besides, if I had let them in the Timelines & Scenarios forum, you wouldn't be able to rip them apart. (That's also the reason why he didn't write follow-ups.)

You want them to die? Let them.
