America's Tories

OTL, a (significant?) portion of the Tories left the US after the end of the ARW - either to Canada or Bermuda's fair isle. What would've happened if a significant number of them had stuck around?

Note: I'm asking this since I'm sort of at a loose end as to what might become of them for my Louis XVI TL, but also cause I think it could have an interesting effect on early American politics

EDIT: New information come to light

Well, it'd probably behoove them (due to the loss of real property/respect of their neighbors) to be among the first Western settlers.
