America's Team Revised- A Dallas Cowboys TL

Introduction

“Picked off! Look out! Gets past Manning, and it’s Tracy Porter taking it all the way! Touchdown New Orleans!”

The very famous call of the New Orleans Saints clinching their first ever Super Bowl. The call that still haunts Peyton Manning.

Peyton Manning’s Sit-Down Interview, first since his retirement.

Question: Do you still remember that play?
PM: Of course. It’s funny. I’ve had hundreds of famous plays throughout my career that was successful. But I can barely remember any of them, and I can still hear that call.

Question: Was the fan response from Indianapolis a reason why you left?
PM: Looking back of it, of course they had every right to be angry with me. But at the time, I felt like they turned their backs on me, and that made me feel like it was time to leave.

A very famous viral photo of the team arriving in Indianapolis following the Super Bowl 44 loss, of a fan flipping off Peyton Manning as he walked by the barrier.

Question: What brought you to Dallas?
PM: It’s funny. The first week they weren’t even on the radar. Indianapolis was pitching to me, Miami had an interest, and even the Arizona Cardinals, since [Kurt] Warner had retired. I was between the Colts and Cardinals, when Jerry Jones called.

Question: How did he lure you to signing with them?
PM: He pitched that with me they were easily a Super Bowl team. I had my doubts, the roster was good, probably better than Indianapolis but even then I still didn’t see us winning a Super Bowl right away. But Jerry kept his passion about being a top team every year. He did a little Brown Nosing chuckling saying that I was the best Quarterback in the league. I believed that he believed I was the best option in bringing a ring back to Dallas, so after a while I signed with them.

Question: Did Indianapolis try to match the offer?
PM: It seem liked it was a mutual split. They were the first ones to give me an offer. Which was 4 Years something around 50 Million. Of course, it's never about the money, but it felt weird that I was only worth 50 Million to them. So when it was announced that Dallas had offered me a 5 Year, 70 Million dollar contract, they said they couldn't match it, so it was up to me.

"The Dallas Cowboys have signed Quarterback Peyton Manning to a 5 Year/70 Million Dollar contract today. It's reported that Indianapolis and Dallas are trying to work out a deal to send Quarterback Tony Romo to Indianapolis."

Question: How did Indianapolis take the news?
PM: Everyone in the organization was very supportive. Reggie [Wayne] even said that he might follow me when his contract was up. Everyone gave me their goodbyes, and that was that. Of course, the city itself took it slightly different.

Shots of fans during the preseason with signs all taking shots at Peyton Manning.
Good Riddance Peyton.
Go Choke in Dallas.
Eli is the better Manning anyway.

Author’s Note:
So yeah, my 5th timeline. I decided to go with the idea of Peyton going to Dallas. I’m pretty sure his contract wasn’t up, but just stretch your imagination :p. Anyway, for this TL I’m going to be experimenting a bit with the format/write-up and all that. Each season will probably be broken up into Preseason/Regular Season and then the Postseason as two separate updates. But anyway, enjoy the teaser for now.

Well this one would be pretty interesting, nice for giving the idea, would be far interesting see how will unfold.

Mr.KnowAllSports Pre-Season NFL Blog
It’s time for another season of the footballs, and it seems like everyone is going to see the first ever home team in the Dallas Cowboys. I mean, they got Peyton Manning, had a decent draft class and Wade Phillips led them to the playoffs last year with the Third Seed so everything is right in Texas. Or is it? I am the first one to admit, I love to see angry Cowboys’ fans in my comment section, but just hear this argument out. Peyton Manning is near God status in the regular season, but in the postseason? He is a well known choke artist, just ask Indianapolis why they lost Super Bowl 44. Many except the Cowboys to do well in the postseason, and they could even clinch home field advantage on their way to being the first ever home Super Bowl team. But I’m not apart of the crowd. One simple reason. The Philadelphia Eagles. They just signed Quarterback Michael Vick. Yes, he is an asshole for what he did off the field, but on the field he was the Madden breaking Superstar that lead Atlanta to success for a handful of years. So I’m going to call it now. The Philadelphia Eagles are going to win the NFC East, and the Dallas Cowboys will clinch the Fifth Seed with a 11-5 record. The NFC Championship Game will be the New Orleans Saints vs. Green Bay Packers. Yeah, that’s right I said Green Bay. One reason, Aaron Rodgers is ready to break out as an Elite Quarterback. The Dallas Cowboys will LOSE a Peyton Manning led Rematch vs. the New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card Round. The AFC Championship Game will be the New England Patriots and whoever is going to lose to the New England Patriots. The Lombardi Trophy will be hoisted by Tom Brady for the fourth time in his career, when they defeat the New Orleans Saints 27-23. Let me see those tears in the comment section Patriots Haters.

Question: What do you remember of that first game on the Cowboys?
PM: It was one of my best games. Period.

“And welcome everyone to the first Sunday Night Football of the season. Alot of eyes on this game, and for good reason. The first game of Peyton Manning in a Cowboys uniform. A move during the offseason that is leading many to expect them to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, in their own season.”

“And the first play for Peyton Manning on his new team will start at the 20 yard line, after the touchback on the kickoff. Manning starts under center, the snap comes in, he fakes the handoff to McCluster and then will step up and fire it deep...Bryant hauls it in! One defender is giving chase but he will not be caught! What a way to start his NFL Career. Dez Bryant’s first catch will go for a score. And just like that the Cowboys lead 6-0!”

“McCluster up the middle and into the endzone! Another touchdown by the Cowboys, they now lead 13-3, with 5:09 left in the first Quarter.”

“Manning under center. The Cowboys on the Redskins 34 yard line. The snap comes in, and he will have the time needed, fires over the middle, Witten hauls it in and will go untouched into the endzone! Another touchdown by Dallas, now a 20-3 game, and we still have 1:29 left in the first Quarter.”

“The last kneel down by Peyton Manning will finally end this game for the Washington Redskins. Anything but a close game here in Fedex Field. The Cowboys winning 49-6. Peyton Manning giving hope that the so called Super Team will live up to expectations, finishing with 498 Yards and 5 Touchdowns, no turnovers. They will travel host Chicago Next Week.”

Question: How was the first 3 Weeks like in Dallas?
PM: It was a whirlwind. The first game we easily won, and it was on national TV so it made us feel even better that all the doubters would be able to see what we were capable of. At the bye week we sat a 2-1 record, losing that heartbreaker in Chicago on a last second field goal. But we came back, took care of business against the Houston Texans. Even so early into the season, and with only a 2-1 record, we felt like we were the top team in the NFC.

2-1
Week 1. W at. Washington Redskins 49-6
Week 2. L vs. Chicago Bears 20-21
Week 3. W at. Houston Texans 31-13

Question: What was the week build leading up to your first match-up with your younger brother Eli?
PM: laughing as he speaks. Eli was trying to play mind games all week. He’d send me text messages like. Oh, a 5-1 record? Well, it’ll look better as 5-2. I’d always blow it off, because I had to stick to the game plan.

“Manning fires towards the endzone, and Witten hauls it in for six! The game’s first touchdown, on the game’s first drive.”

“Manning under pressure, steps up fires, no pump fake and he takes it himself, extends out into the endzone...for a score!”

“We are heading to Overtime here in Dallas. A high scoring affair, in large part to the Manning Brothers. They both have lead their teams to put up 35 points, as we head into Overtime.”

“The Cowboys win the coin flip here in Overtime. The teams are lined up here for the kick. The ball is booted deep into the hands of McCluster, he takes it out of the endzone. Past the 20 yard line, up the sidelines, met by a group of players cuts to his left, down the midfield marker and has one man to beat...he will be caught at the Giants 44 yard line! He had one man to beat and got caught by his shoestrings.”

“1st & 10 at the Giants 44 yard line. They are in great position to win the game here. Only needing 3 points. Manning starts under center, the snap comes. Fakes the handoff to McCluster before firing over the middle, caught by Miles Austin, who’s now taking it up the sidelines, avoids a tackle and dives into the endzone! Game Over! The Dallas Cowboys win 41-35 here in Overtime! What a game!”

5-1
Week 1. W at. Washington Redskins 49-6
Week 2. L vs. Chicago Bears 20-21
Week 3. W at. Houston Texans 31-13
Week 4. BYE WEEK
Week 5. W vs. Tennessee Titans 33-24
Week 6. W at. Minnesota Vikings 24-21
Week 7. W vs. New York Giants 41-35 O.T.

Question: How did you guys start off so hot?
PM: You know. I never know the answer to that. It just happens, it's always a combination of luck, skill and wins get you a good record. As vague as that sounds.

“And we are going to head to Overtime again here in New York. A much lower score than the first meeting between the two. Tied 17-17 going into the Extra Period.”

“Manning under pressure, he scrambles and then fires...picked off by Sam Shields! He’s brought down at the Giants 30 yard line. Setting the Cowboys up in great field position to win the game!”

“Manning hands it off to McCluster, up the middle and is brought down, a gain of 5 on the play.”

“McCluster gets the ball again, and up the middle again, and another gain of 5. Now a first down, and at the Giants 20 yard line and now great field position to win the game here.”

“Kris Brown now coming out for the 37 yard kick to win the game. The teams are lined up, the snap comes in...the kick will...miss! But the Giants called a timeout before the snap!”

“Kris Brown gets a break here. Missed the first kick, but the Giants called a timeout in an attempt to ice him. The teams lined up, the snap comes in...the hold is good and the kick...goes down the middle this time! The Dallas Cowboys win the game again in Overtime to sweep divisional rivals New York Giants.”

The Conversation between Eli and Peyton Manning
Eli: I guess I’ll just have to win the third match-up in the postseason.
Peyton: I’ll see you there, and hey who knows I’ll might buy a Super Bowl ticket for you when the game ends.
Both laugh.

7-2
Week 1. W at. Washington Redskins 49-6
Week 2. L vs. Chicago Bears 20-21
Week 3. W at. Houston Texans 31-13
Week 4. BYE WEEK
Week 5. W vs. Tennessee Titans 33-24
Week 6. W at. Minnesota Vikings 24-21
Week 7. W vs. New York Giants 41-35 O.T.
Week 8. W vs. Jacksonville Jaguars 21-13
Week 9. L at. Green Bay Packers 23-28
Week 10. W at. New York Giants 20-17 O.T.

Question: What was the mindset of going into Thanksgiving against the New Orleans Saints?
PM: You reporters are all the same. Laughing. Just as I said the week prior to the game, it’s just another game. Once you start thinking about who the opponent is, what happened the last time you guys met, you put yourself at a disadvantage. So I had no bad blood or what not going into, it was just another game.

“3:40 left in the game. Still tied 17-17 here late in Dallas. 2nd & 4 to go from the Saints 40 yard line for the Dallas Cowboys. Manning under center, gets the ball, fakes the handoff to McCluster before firing over the middle, Witten hauls it in before being taken down. A gain of 10, a fresh set of downs.”

“3:29 to go now. At the Saints 30 yard line, 1st & 10. Manning in shotgun formation now. The snap comes, has the time, looking and then fires towards the left sidelines for Bryant, who hauls in the catch before being shoved out of bounds, another pass for 10 yards.”

“Now 1st & 10 again, at the Saints 20 yard line. They only need a field goal to win the game, and they can wear as much clock as possible. 2:56 left to go. The snap comes in, Manning waits, before handing it off to McCluster who takes it up the middle, out to his left now, slips a tackle past the first down marker and past a block, and he is into the endzone! The Cowboys take the lead 23-17 with 2:43 to go.”

“Now the Saints need 7 to answer, and to send the game into Overtime. Trailing 24-17. 1st & 10 with 2:36 to go. A decent return gets them to their own 31 yard line. Brees under center to start, drops back gives it to Bush on a fake, and he then fires over to the left...picked off! Newman picks it off, he’s now returning it and he goes into the endzone to put the game on ice! The Dallas Cowboys now lead 30-17 waiting the PAT.”

PM: After that game, Newman came up to me with a football, I’m not really sure if it was the ball he got when he returned the pass, but he gave it to me saying that even if I didn’t believe in the lingering thought of the Super Bowl, he did and he got the pass for me.

Question: Your first game back in Indianapolis, how did you prepare?
PM: I was ready for the response. We all knew what we were expecting. But to be honest, I was surprised at the response I had gotten.

“And now, the visiting Dallas Cowboys.”
The Visiting Team runs out of the tunnel, as Peyton Manning is one of the last to come out, and the fans are split between cheers and boos.

PM: It took me by major surprise. I was expecting just a crescendo of boos to come flying my way, but I’ll admit it, the cheers got to me, knowing that I still had fans in the city that I started my career in.

Camera Shots of Signs during the Game, showing a difference of messages.
Welcome Home, Peyton.
We Already Like Tony.
You Can Always Come Back.
Stay In Dallas.

Question: What do you remember the most about that game?
PM: It was roughly around the third Quarter. We were up, I think 21-14, and we just had scored. I took my position on the bench, and I was looking over the playbook and getting recovered. You always hear things when you’re a visiting team from the fans. And amongst the things like, You Suck, Tony Is Better Than You, Never Come Back. I can still distinctly remember hearing a kid’s voice saying, Don’t Listen To Any of Them, and that made me feel better about my decision.

“3rd & 3 to go for Dallas. At their own 30 yard line. 1:30 to go in the game, still tied 35-35. Manning in shotgun formation, the snap comes, it’ll be a pass, he has the protection needed and he fires over the middle, off the hands of someone at the line and...it’s intercepted! The Cowboys cause an almost devastating turnover!”

“The Colts get the 38-35 victory over the Cowboys, thanks to the late kick made by Adam Vinatieri.”

“The Dallas Cowboys get another easy victory here in Dallas, as they mercifully finish the game. Cruising to a 42-17 victory, thanks to the 4 Touchdowns by Peyton Manning.”

“The PAT will tie the game here in Arizona. Teams are lined up here, and the kick...goes left! Kris Brown misses the PAT that surely wins the game for the Cardinals, wow!”

“The Dallas Cowboys clinch the Second Seed in the NFC. Defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 17-13, to finish the year with a 12-4 record. They will get the much appreciated Bye Week to start the postseason.”

Mr.KnowAllSports End Of The Regular Season Of The NFL Blog
Well. What the hell was this season? I’ll be the first to admit when I am wrong. And boy was I wrong about the NFC East. The Dallas Cowboys proved me and all the doubters wrong by winning the division and much less the Second Seed in the NFC. Before I get to them, where the hell did the Atlanta Falcons come from? To Clinch a playoff spot, much less the division title, much less the First Seed of the NFC. As well as the Seattle Seahawks. A 7-9 team is hosting the defending Super Bowl Champions. Just think about that statement. Hopefully they fix the system someday. Now back to the Dallas Cowboys. They would have the First Seed if it wasn’t for Kris Brown. They look like one of the top teams, and as much as I’d love to be a bandwagon of them, I still don’t see them as a top threat in the NFC. I’m sticking with my original pick of the Saints vs. Packers in the NFC Championship game. The AFC is still looking like the Patriots and the other five teams. The Super Bowl is still going to be the Patriots over the Saints. As for MVP award, I’d give it to Peyton Manning. 4,602 Yards 40 Touchdowns, while he does have 13 interceptions on the year, it still shouldn’t discredit the amazing season he has put up. While I can see the case for Tom Brady. 4,730 Yards 37 Touchdowns and less interceptions of 9 interceptions. He also has the better record at 14-2. Click the link below if you want to see my pick of every playoff game.

Question: Did you feel like you had a chance of winning the Super Bowl going into the Postseason?
PM: Of course. Every time you make the postseason, you have the mindset of winning the Super Bowl. It’s not like, Oh Well so-so is the better team than us so we should just look forward to the next season.

NFC Standings:
1. Atlanta Falcons 13-3
2. Dallas Cowboys 12-4
3. Chicago Bears 11-5
4. Seattle Seahawks 7-9
5. New Orleans Saints 10-6
6. Green Bay Packers 10-6

Author’s Notes:
So I think this will be the format I’ll stick with for every season. But you never know, I might change things in the future. I was thinking of including clips/blurs from actual shows like First Take and Sportscenter and what not, but I decided, for now at least, that I’ll just keep thing to my own creations for outside expert predictions and such. Future drafts will include other team picks, but for the first one I kept it as the same OTL, minus the players Dallas took. So the postseason will be up soon, and enjoy the first season.

The new format was insane, allow feel the tl and was terrific, what a season and now come the testfire with the playoffs, good luck peyton, playoffs will be something here

2010 NFL Postseason

Divisional Round vs. Seattle Seahawks

Question: How did it feel in the first playoff game on the Cowboys?
PM: It was still surreal to me. I played 16 games on Dallas, but it still felt weird being on the team. Especially in the postseason.

-cut into the 1st Quarter-
“3rd & 3 for the Cowboys. Still the opening drive of the game here. At the Seahawks’ 18 yard line. Manning in the shotgun formation. The snap comes in, and the pressure is coming in and he fires over the middle quickly, Witten hauls in the catch and he’ll be brought down at the Seahawks’ 5 yard line.”

“1st & Goal now. 9:39 in the First Quarter. Manning under center, will give it off to McCluster and he’ll take it up the middle and he’s into the endzone! The first touchdown of the game, and it comes from a 5 yard rush by Devin McCluster.”

-cut into the 1st Quarter-
“Dallas is stalling out here. At the Seahawks 20 yard line. The incompletion to Bryant. Now here comes the kicking unit. Kris Brown coming out, 19-24 on the year. An official 37 yard kick for him. The snap comes in, the hold and the kick...are both good. Now a 10-0 game here, with 4:09 left in the First Quarter.”

-cut into the 2nd Quarter-
“The Seahawks are going to need 3 here to keep this drive going. At their own 48 yard line. Still a 10-0 game, with 8:29 left in the Second Quarter. Hasselbeck behind center, and Lynch behind him. The snap comes in, and he hands it off to Lynch, who takes it up the middle and he’ll be brought….the ball is loose! A fumble, the Cowboys scoop it up, and now Sean Lee is rushing down the sidelines and avoids Hasselbeck and he scores! Touchdown Dallas!”

-cut into the 2nd Quarter-
“The Seahawks are going to have to punt the ball away here. 3:38 left in the first half. At midfield. The Cowboys still leading 17-0. The snap comes in and...it’s a fake! Ryan throws it and it’s batted down! That was a gamble, but it didn’t pay off for the Seahawks. And the Cowboys take over at midfield.”

“Now 1st & 10 for the Dallas Cowboys at midfield. 3:31 left in the first half, and 17-0. Manning in shotgun formation, the snap comes in, has the protection needed, and he quickly steps up and fires it deep down the middle, Bryant hauls it in! Slips off a tackle and he’ll be wide open to score! Another touchdown for the Cowboys!”

-cut into the 3rd Quarter-
“That run comes up short for McCluster. Now they will have to bring out Kris Brown for another field goal. An official 40 yard field goal. 11:20 in the Third Quarter to go. Still a 24-0 game, and the snap comes in, the hold and the kick...adds 3 onto their lead. Now a 27-0 lead.”

-cut into the 3rd Quarter-
“1st & Goal now for the Seahawks. They need points on the board here. Still a 27-0 game, with 7:44 left in the Third Quarter. Hasselbeck under center, and quickly drops back and hands it off to Lynch who takes it up the middle, and he’ll be untouched into the endzone! The Seahawks get their first touchdown of the game.”

-cut into the 3rd Quarter-
“3rd & 4 to go for the Seahawks. At the Cowboys 20 yard line. Still trailing 27-7 here, with 2:09 left in the Third Quarter. Hasselbeck in the shotgun formation, and the snap comes in and the pressure is coming in already, and he scrambles out to his right and fires towards the endzone...caught! Butler hauls in the catch, and another touchdown for the Seahawks.”

-cut into the 4th Quarter-
“Another Field Goal kick coming up for Kris Brown. Another drive stalls out for the Cowboys. A 27-14 game here still, with 10:05 left in the game. An official 38 yard kick for Brown. 2-2 for the day. The snap comes in and the hold looks good...they Cowboys get 3 more points on the board. Now a 30-14 game here.”

-cut into the 4th Quarter-
“Yet another field goal will be coming for the Cowboys. 30-14 lead for the Cowboys here, with 6:28 left in the game. The longest kick coming for Kris Brown today. A 49 yarder. The teams are lining up and the snap comes in, the hold looks good...and now a 33-14 game.”

-cut into the 4th Quarter-
“Hasselbeck throws into the endzone to Lynch, and another score! But it probably is a case of little to late, 33-20 waiting on the PAT with 1:29 left in the game.”

“The Dallas Cowboys will be moving onto the NFC Championship game. They will meet the Sixth Seed Green Bay Packers with a chance of a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.”

Final Score
Cowboys 33 Seahawks 21

NFC Championship Game vs. Green Bay Packers

-cut into the 1st Quarter-
“2nd & 14 for the Cowboys here at the Packers 20 yard line. Still a 0-0 game here with 5:22 left in the First Quarter. Manning taking a second sack on this drive. The snap comes in, pressure in coming and Manning rolls out and fires over the middle to Witten, who extends out...and scores for the Touchdown!”

-cut into the 1st Quarter-
“1st & 10 for the Packers. At the Cowboys 31 yard line. Still trailing 7-0. Ball comes to Rodgers, has the protection, he fires over the middle to Jennings, the tackle misses, Jennings past the first down marker, avoids Chancellor and gets into the endzone! Touchdown Packers!”

-cut into the 2nd Quarter-
“Crosby will now be sent out onto the field. 7-7 game with 9:20 left in the first half of the ballgame. The teams lined up here. A 43 yard kick for Mason Crosby. The snap comes in and the kick...squeezes into the upright. Now the Packers lead 10-7 here.”

-cut into the 2nd Quarter-
“Now the Cowboys will come out onto the field. The kickoff went out of the endzone, so now the Cowboys take over at their own 20 yard line. Manning will start the drive under center. He drops back fakes the handoff to McCluster and then fires over to the left...intercepted! Woodson picks the pass off, and now he’s down the sidelines and into the endzone! A 16-7 game here!”

-cut into the 2nd Quarter-
“3rd & 6 at the Packers 30 yard line. Still trailing 17-7 here. 0:28 seconds left in the first half. Manning in the shotgun, here comes the snap and he fires it quickly over the middle to Witten, and he’s quickly brought down. They will not hurry to the line, having one last timeout here, they will wait until the clock wears down.”

“0:04 left in the first half now. The kick will be an official 37 yard kick here for Kris Brown. Still 17-7, this kick will make it a one possession game. The snap comes in, the hold and the kick...is right down the middle. And we go into the halftime break with the Green Bay Packers leading 17-10 here, one half to go with a chance with the Super Bowl on the line.”

-cut into the 3rd Quarter-
“The Cowboys will add on 3 here with this kick. What should be a boot in for Kris Brown. An official 23 yard kick. The snap comes in, the hold looks good...and the kick will be down the middle, the Cowboys are chipping into the Packers’ lead here, now a 17-13 game with 6:03 left in the Third Quarter.”

-cut into the 4th Quarter-
“Now it’s the Packers’ turn to add 3 onto their lead. The yardage for the kick will be 43. It will make it a one touchdown game with 6:58 left in the game. The teams are lined up here, the snap comes in, the hold looks good...and the kick is good. Now a 20-13 game with 6:54 left to go in the game.”

-cut into the 4th Quarter-
“1st & Goal. 1:22 left in the game, at the Packers 8 yard line. Still a 20-13 game. The Cowboys need a touchdown to send the game into Overtime. The snap comes in, Manning fakes the handoff to McCluster and then quickly fires it over the middle, and off the hands of Dez Bryant! He had to jump up to get it, but he couldn’t come down with it, it will now be 2nd & Goal.”

“Manning now under center. The snap comes in, no handoff now, and he drops back and he will step up and fire to the left, and it’s batted down by Charles Woodson. Now 3rd & Goal coming up, 1:05 left in the game.”

“3rd & Goal, at the Packers 8 yard line still. 1:05 left. Manning in shotgun formation. The snap comes in, and Manning will fake another handoff to McCluster and then will quickly be brought down for a sack! Now 4th & Goal coming up! And they use their last timeout to stop the clock at 0:56 left in the game.”

“4th & Goal. At the Packers 16 yard line. It’s do or die here for the Dallas Cowboys. They have one play to tie the game. Manning in an empty backfield. Last gas. The Packers need a stop. The snap comes in, has protection, Manning steps up fires it to Bryant again, who hauls it in and the Cowboys tie the game! What a throw and catch.”

“Now the officials are going to review the play here, they are going to look to see if Bryant had possession of the football the entire time. At first look it seems like he goes to the ground with clear possession of the ball. But he does lose the ball as it makes contact with the ground, but it seems like it was a catch, but we shall see what the call will be by the officials.”

“As the receiver came down with the catch, he loses possession as it makes contact with the ground, therefore it is not a catch, and the Cowboys turn over on possession.”

Final Score
Cowboys 13 Packers 20

Question: How did the team feel after that call?
PM: We felt like we were robbed. It looked like a catch to us, it looked like the tying touchdown, but the refs thought of it differently.

Author’s Notes:
So there you have it. The first postseason is done, I kept it with the same OTL result with the Packers defeating the Steelers. Future Super Bowls will be written in full as my other timelines, but this one is the same result so no need to write it up. Cowboys still can’t catch a break with postseason catch rules. And the next update will be out sometime after Christmas.

Cowboys 13 Packers 20

Question: How did the team feel after that call?
PM: We felt like we were robbed. It looked like a catch to us, it looked like the tying touchdown, but the refs thought of it differently.
So we could get it trully name the Dez Bryant Rule(or for packers, dez dropped it moment ittl) and yeah bad calls killing games like always....

2011 NFL Offseason/Draft
Question: Did you guys use that missed call as a narrative for the entire 2011 Season?
PM: Of course. Would have we won in Overtime against the Packers? Who knows, but we still felt like we were screwed against them. So Jerry [Jones] went to get more offensive power in the offseason, and we were ready to show everyone how angry we were at the call.

“The Dallas Cowboys have signed Wide Receiver Santonio Holmes to a 3 year/30.5M deal.”

PM: Of course everyone saw the play Santonio [Holmes] made in Super Bowl 43. I was in awe myself, so when he announced to the team that he signed with us, I was happy that he would be one of my top targets.

Mr.KnowAllSports Pre-Season NFL Blog
2011 Season is finally here. And who is gonna win the big one in Indianapolis? Well, it actually is alot harder than what I thought was the right pick of last year. The AFC is a toss-up. The New England Patriots are obviously always a top pick of any NFL prediction. But last year, they seemed not themselves. The Jets? Mark Sánchez? REALLY?! But anyway, I wrote enough about that last year. Speaking of the Jets, two straight trips to the AFC Championship game. Will the run continue? No. It’s the Jets. The Steelers looked good until the Super Bowl last year. So my official prediction for the AFC Championship game will be the New England Patriots vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now unto the NFC. The Green Bay Packers are going to be on a tear this year. Aaron Rodgers is going to be the MVP. They could even finish the regular season undefeated. Yeah, I said that. Their schedule is weak, and I’m ALL aboard the Aaron Rodgers’ train. But does that mean they will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl for two straight years? There is one team to stop them. The Dallas Cowboys. Yes, I was on the hate wagon with them last year. But they’re really building a team around Peyton Manning. And to be honest, I want to see Peyton in his old stadium on Super Bowl Sunday. That script writes itself. So my final predictions.
AFC Championship Game: Steelers over Patriots
NFC Championship Game: Cowboys over Packers
That’s right. We’re going back to the 90s. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys are going to Super Bowl 46. Where, Peyton Manning gets his second ring thanks to a 31-23 victory over the Steelers.

Question: How was the start of the 2011 Season?
PM: It was crazy. We had aspirations of being a top team of course, but the NFL is the NFL. And you look back on it, two of those teams were in the playoffs, and were a force to be recoken with during the entirety of the season.

“And what a start to Sunday Night Football this season. The defending Super Bowl Champions Green Bay Packers host the team they beat to get there. The Dallas Cowboys. The NFC Championship game rematch, and we should be in store for a good one here.”

PM: It’s funny. Dez [Bryant] came up to me before the game, during warm-ups and then again in the locker room. He told me, “Get me the ball in the end of the game. If we’re down 49-0, up 49-0, I don’t care, I want to get that call back.”

“The Dallas Cowboys trailing here. 3rd & 5 to go from the Packers 23 yard line. Manning under center, the teams lined up and the snap comes in, he drops back before stepping up and fires towards the endzone...Bryant hauls it in! Was he in bounds though?....The officials say yes! Touchdown Dallas, with 0:53 left in the game!”

“Upon further review, the receiver got both feet in with possession of the football, meaning the call on the field stands, Touchdown Dallas.”

Question: The game in Green Bay, was that a satisfying means of revenge?
PM: At the time, yes it was. But of course, it was just a regular season game, and they had beaten us in the NFC Championship. But still, it was the type of game to get our confidence sky high.

“Manning fires towards Holmes...and he hauls it in for a score!”

“McCluster up the middle, past a group of guys and into the endzone for a score!”

“Nobody is open and Manning thinks he will take it himself, and will be untouched into the endzone! I guess nobody thought that was an option!”

“Bryant hauls in another touchdown on the day, three today!”

PM: The first four games of the season were a great start. We beat the Packers, the 49ers, the Lions, and the Redskins. Three teams who were in the hunt of the playoffs all year, and a divisional rival. It was a great start, and the Bye Week gave us time to prepare for the showdown in New England.”

4-0
Week 1. W at. Green Bay Packers 31-28

Week 3. W vs. Washington Redskins 35-10
Week 4. W vs. Detroit Lions 23-17 O.T.

Question: How did you feel anytime you faced Tom Brady?
PM: He is one of the greatest players ever. So anytime you face somebody on that level, it makes you play that much better.

“The Patriots are now going to need 5 to keep this drive alive. 24-17 game, the Cowboys lead here in Foxboro. 1:29 left in the game, at the Cowboys 44 yard line, one last play to keep the game alive. Brady in shotgun formation, the snap comes in, pressure in coming and Brady will step up and fire it deep towards Welker...batted down! But there comes a flag.”

“Pass Interference, number 37, 15 yard penalty and that’s an automatic first down.”

“Now 1st & 10 at the Cowboys 20 yard line. Shields committing the foul by tugging on Welker’s shirt before batting the ball down. 1:19 left in the game. Brady under center now, he fakes a handoff, then quickly fires over the middle...tipped and...caught in the endzone by Deion Branch! The Patriots tie the game, with 1:08 left in the game!”

“The Cowboys now have a chance to win here in Overtime. Rookie Dan Bailey is coming out for an official 49 yard kick. 3-3 on the year so far. The snap comes in, the hold and the kick will…miss! The kick goes left, barely missing the upright! And the game continues here!”

“The Patriots now have a chance to win the game here. A 41 yard kick for Stephen Gostkowski. The teams are lined up here, the snap comes in and the kick...is good but it looks like Coach Phillips called a timeout before the snap.”

“Attempt #2 for Gostkowski here. 5:03 left in the Overtime period. The teams are lining up, still a 41 yard kick for the win. The snap comes in and the kick will…win the Patriots the ball game! 27-24 will be the final score here.”

4-1
Week 1. W at. Green Bay Packers 31-28
Week 2. W at. San Francisco 49ers 31-18
Week 3. W vs. Washington Redskins 35-10
Week 4. W vs. Detroit Lions 23-17 O.T.
BYE WEEK
Week 6. L at. New England Patriots 24-27 O.T.

PM: We were disappointed there. Just like in 2009 [With the Colts] we had aspirations of possibly finishing the season undefeated, but we lost that game in New England. But we kept going strong that season. We had close wins, blowouts, but either way we were winning games, and that is all that matters.

“With that final kneel down, the Cowboys will pick up an easy 38-7 victory here against the St.Louis Rams.”

“Vick back in the shotgun formation. The Eagles are trailing here 38-34. Roughly 3:48 left in the game. At their own 49 yard line. The snap comes in, pressure in coming already he will scramble out to the left, before back to the right and then fires...Shields picks it off! What could be the game sealing interception.”

9-1
Week 1. W at. Green Bay Packers 31-28

Week 10. W vs. Buffalo Bills 20-16
Week 11. W at. Washington Redskins 33-20

Question: Of all the comebacks in your career, how did the one against the Dolphins that year feel?
PM: I still can remember it, to be honest. I don’t remember off the top of my head what the largest comeback of my career was, but for some reason that one stands out in my head. It was probably a combination of it being Thanksgiving or maybe how season went was a reason why it sticks out.

“Carpenter nails the kick, and it extends the Dolphins lead out to 23-0 going into the halftime break. The visiting Miami Dolphins are in full control of this game here as we are done with Two Quarters.”

“Manning fires into the endzone...Holmes catches it, and the Cowboys are finally on the board here.”

“Moore now under center to start this drive. The Dolphins still leading here 23-7. At their own 20 yard line. Moore fakes the handoff to Bush, and then quickly fires out to his left...picked off! Shields undercuts the pass, and now is returning it and will be untouched into the endzone! Just like that, the Cowboys get their second touchdown of the day!”

“Manning pitches it out to McCluster and he takes it on the outside and...gets into the endzone! Now only a 3 point game, the PAT will make it a 2 point game!”

“0:43 left in the game. 2nd & Goal to go for the Cowboys. Still trailing 23-21. Will the Cowboys score to complete the comeback or will the Dolphins hold onto for the upset? Manning in shotgun formation, the snap gets to him, McCluster picks up a block and Manning will then fire to the endzone...caught! Caught! Dez Bryant hauls in the catch, and the Cowboys will have their first lead of the game, with 0:36 left in the game!”

Question: Did it ever get normal to face your brother Eli twice in a year?
PM: Eventually, it did. But the first few seasons, definitely not. It took a while to get use to his mindgames. Well, let me rephrase to attempted mindgames. Laughter.

“Lawrence Tynes now has a chance to win the game here. 4 seconds left on the clock, an official 44 yard kick. The Cowboys can only watch, the game tying drive used all 3 of their timeouts. The teams are lined up, the snap comes in and...the Giants win the game! The final reads 23-20.”

The Conversation between Eli and Peyton.
Eli: You shouldn’t have left time on the clock for me.
Peyton: I’ll advise you to do the same in Week 17.
Both laugh.

“Manning fires to the endzone...caught by Austin!”

“Manning a flip to Holmes, who takes it into the endzone on the Sweep!”

“Manning hands it off to McCluster, wait it’s a flea flicker! Manning fires it deep...and it’s hauled in for the score by Cobb!”

“And now we are heading into the postseason. The Giants winning here again in New York against the Cowboys, as it seems both teams will be in the playoffs.”

The Conversation between Eli and Peyton.
Peyton: You’re lucky they benched me.
Eli: I know you were too scared to continue to face me, it’s ok.
Another laugh.

Mr.KnowAllSports End Of The Regular Season Of The NFL Blog
Ok, so this season looks decent to what I predicted, compared to last year. The Cowboys are in good position with the second seed, as the Packers did clinch the first seed as predicted. Even though, they should be 15-1, don’t know how you lose to the Chiefs. But anyway, no reason to change anything, the Cowboys are still going to defeated Pittsburgh. All they have to do is beat New England on the way. I mean, Tebow? I love his hype but he isn’t a playoff Quarterback. The Ravens are a shock in getting the Bye Week. But Flacco doesn’t have that ‘Factor’ to be anywhere near the Super Bowl. The NFC is an easy road. Dallas or Green Bay. Take your pick, even though I’m still saying Peyton plays in his old stadium. The MVP race is an interesting one, but to me it’s Rodgers by a mile. Maybe Peyton gets the upset? But don’t hold your breath. If you want to see every playoff game prediction more in depth, click the link.

NFC Standings:
1. Green Bay Packers 14-2
2. Dallas Cowboys 13-3
3. San Francisco 49ers 13-3
4. New Orleans Saints 13-3
5. Atlanta Falcons 10-6
6. New York Giants 9-7

Author’s Notes:
So, with Christmas over I was able to start working on the new season. Wasn’t expecting to finish it all today, but once you start writing it happens :p. As for the season itself, I was thinking of having the Cowboys go on a full revenge of the Dez Bryant rule, but the pieces aren’t quite there for an undefeated season. So as always, enjoy the season and the postseason will follow.

Is this will Cain?

x'Dx'D

No. The only reason I did a sort of Cowboys wank is because I wanted a Peyton "heel turn." As a timeline. The only other team hated more than the Cowboys are the Patriots, and obliviously he isn't going there.

Very interesting timeline, and thanks for still giving my beloved Packers a Super Bowl win. I am curious to see how the Packers do in a rematch with the Cowboys, and also am curious to see if Nick Collins did not have that nasty neck injury.

Small update.

Laptop is dead, so I’m currently trying to make an old one work or gonna have to buy a new one. I am working on the next update on my phone.

So, expect a bit of a delay with the next update.
