POD April 1813 Battle of York: Brigadier General Zebulon M. Pike is nearly killed when retreating Canadian militia attempted to destroy a large magazine.
May-June 1813 Battle of Fort George: Promoted to the rank of Major General for his success at York, General Pike leads the attack and pursuit of British forces on Fort George and immediately afterwards. Resulting defeat and rout of British forces result in complete withdraw to Burlington Heights.
Aug. 1813 Battle of Burlington Heights: In an attack similar to the Battle of York US forces catch the British by surprise resulting in the destruction of the shipyard and military stores.
Sept. 1813 Battle of Kingston: Gen. Pike takes command of the main America Army with the consent of mentor and friend Gen. James Wilkinson. Pike decides a more direct attack on Kingston is far more practical than a campaign against Montreal. American forces having massive numerical superiority take Kingston despite heavy resistance from British and Canadian forces.
